Beyoncé: The Female Version of A Hustla

Let’s put aside the fact that the track is a not-so-cleverly-disguised rip of Lil’ Wayne‘s “A Milli,” thanks to producer Bangladesh‘s similar stylings on both tracks.

Instead, we have a video to celebrate for Beyoncé‘s latest release, “Diva.”

What in God’s name just happened?

Let’s break it down…Mathematically.

BRILLIANT.

Honestly though…Dance breakdowns in pitch darkness, moody camera angles, a fan made of paper money (What recession?), mannequins, AND hair flips?!

I think we can all easily proclaim the emancipation of Sasha Fierce to be the greatest thing to happen to our luscious lady since “Bootylicious.”

Oh yeah, and the video for “Halo” appeared as well, but really…Don’t bother.

    HAHA, ditto on “Halo”.

    Those screen caps are amazing.

Here's the thing, I"m gonna have to disagree. Beyonce has completely lost me with this project, much in the same vein as Garth Brooks/Chris Gaines fiasco of yesteryear.

I'm not sure what she's trying to do anymore or who she's trying to be. Sometimes she comes across as a frothy pop/r&b gal, then she's pushing this really hard image that makes her almost seem to reach the icy stoicism that Madonna has employed over the years, but without the success.

I enjoyed B'day after it's re-release, so that should tell you I'm not a staunch supporter of her (or a hater). But all of these B&W videos and their grungy demeanor are not leaving me with a pleasant taste.

Single Ladies isn't even doing it for me, which is sad.
