The real genius here is Tara Busch. We don’t have any truly unique female artists. There’s the usual store bough pop stars like Lady Ga Ga and the quality songstresses like Bat For Lashes who writes her own stuff, but Tara Busch is out on her own, a writer, singer, musician, performer and producer. The only comparison to me is a mix of Aphex Twin and Judy Garland – way beyond the style followers who make up the rest of the female crowd.

thanks brad, this has pushed me over the edge to buy the latest bat for lashes album. the remix reminds me a bit of that great uk downtempo breakbeat scene like portishead and massive attack, really beautiful.
