Amazon customers receiving Mariah Carey‘s new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel in the mail today have been treated to quite the surprise when attempting to manually upload their CD to iTunes.
According to multiple reports, not only is the album artwork not loading properly, but when customers attempt to manually enter into the “Info” section of the album, the phrase “THIS ALBUM SUCKS” can be found inserted into the “Composer” slot.
There’s still been no word from Carey’s camp regarding the hoax, though if I were to venture a guess regarding the response, I’d think it’d be somewhere along the lines of: “Why you so obsessed with me? No comment.”
Now can someone please calm the lambs down? They’re making me nervous.
What…you didn’t think I’d FORGET, did you?!
Today marks a historic release: Celebration, a 34-track collection (and video compendium) of some of Madonna‘s greatest songs written during the 29 years spent under her longtime label, Warner Bros. Records. Though no 2-disc collection would ever properly befit an artist as prolific, iconic, and influential as Madonna, Celebration is about as near perfect as we could have possibly hoped.
In celebration of Celebration (tee-hee!), I’m proud to announce that MuuMuse will be giving away 3 MADONNA T-SHIRTS to support this release.
To enter to win one of these three (see pictures here, here, and here) shirts AT RANDOM (sorry, can’t call dibs one!), send an e-mail to madonna@muumuse.com with the subject line “CELEBRATION” telling me what your favorite Madonna song of all time is and why. (Don’t worry–if you can’t choose just one, tell me which two or three are!)
US ENTRANTS ONLY PLEASE. (Sorry!)
Contest ends in just ONE week (10/6) at noon, so hurry now while there’s still time! The three winners will be selected and notified on that day.
WHAT YOU WAITING FOR? Come join the party–it’s a Celebration!
TWO MORE WEEKS. (Well, for me, at least. This Wednesday (TOMORROW!) in Oakland is the first official date! Eeeeeeee.) Looks like a scaled-down KylieX2008 production, yes?
I don’t care either way…I’m going to see Kylie!
Facts:
- It’s about ‘doing it’ with two people at once.
- It is synthy and auto-tuned up the wazoo, but not like what you were expecting really.
- Choice lyric: “Living in sin is the new thing.”
- It is required to listen to “3″ no less than three times, as its value will grow exponentially upon each play.
- It is like “Womanizer” in the sense that the verses are “meh,” the bridge is “literally fantastic,” and the chorus is “ridiculously, ridiculously catchy.”
- The greatest moment is the song’s middle eight (which sort of vastly improves on elements from 2003′s “Brave New Girl.”)
- Have I mentioned the middle eight? It’s absolutely lush.
VERDICT: IT IS FANTASTIC.
I’ve decided Amerie‘s new video for “Heard ‘Em All,” directed by Anthony Mandler, borders on sheer brilliance.
If I were merely talking adjectives, I would use such terms as ‘ill,’ ‘fierce,’ ‘raw,’ ‘hot,’ ‘sexy,’ ‘Ciara-esque,’ ‘Matrix-like,’ and ‘really great dancey bits.’
You know why? Because I’m rooting for her. Not as much as I want my icy-electro hip-hop queen Cassie to make a comeback, but hey…I think she deserves another shot.
Keep doin’ whatcha doin’, Amerie.

Courtesy of Britney.com, here it is: The single cover of “3″!
Get ready to rise and shine tomorrow, B fans! Britney’s new single “3″ will premiere on NYC’s Z100 radio station tomorrow morning. If you miss it, you can listen to a clip of the smokin’ hot track by calling The B Line at (310) 341-4438. Also be on the lookout for a “3†music video, starring the one and only Ms. Spears.
Well, we knew we weren’t getting a new photoshoot. All things considered, I generally love it. And WHAT…a new video?!
BEST. YOM KIPPUR. EVER.
“3″ PREMIERES TOMORROW. GET FIRED UP.
If you’ve not yet heard the small masterpiece that is “Obsessed,” you may have missed the fact that, now more than ever, Mariah Carey is waxing poetic. (Thanks, Nick Cannon!)
While listening to her newest album, Memoirs of an Geisha Imperfect Angel, it became rapidly apparent that a running list of the greatest lyrical achievements was in order.
And now, in some particular order, the list:
He’s all up in my
George Foreman!
Kicking off the list is one of the most classic moments off of Mimi’s hit non-single single, “Obsessed.” Will anyone ever really look at a George Foreman grill in the same way?
You got me spinning’ ’round for you like a little model,
Steady fiendin’ for you like them fries at McDonalds,
I wanna be all on your lips like gelato.
Somewhere, a smarmy fast food exec just hip-thrusted the air and shouted, “BOOYA!” Expect fry sales to climb for the third quarter of 2009.
Put all of your shit in the elevator
It’s going down like a denominator.
Well, she already proved to us that she’s no mathematician. Let’s not beat her over the head…with this quote, anyway.
Secretly, I know you want to hit it like the lotto,
And after that, we can ketchup like tomato.
I especially like this one, as it demonstrates Mimi’s ability to employ an accent at will. To-MAY-to, to-MAH-to–it’s all the same when you’re tapping Mimi’s ass.
This is for real, for real, for real,
Oprah Winfrey, whole segment, for real, for real,
20/20, Barbara Walters, for real, for real,
60 minutes for real.”
In case anyone was uncertain, bitch is fo’ real real, not fo’ play play.
Not even a nail technician with a whole lot of gel and acrylic can fix this when I break, I break.
I believe it was about this time that I had to pause the album for a moment, sit back, and just mellow out for a little while. I ended up lighting a few tea candles, writing a short haiku, and just getting all spiritual and shit.
And finally, last but certainly not least…
If we were two Lego blocks,
Even the Harvard University graduating class of 2010
Couldn’t put us back together again.
Genius. Literally: Where is her fucking Pulitzer?!
I just wish there were some way I could be there, you know? A fly on the dorm wall of the homosexual at Harvard University listening to this song for the first time, who will then jump out of his seat and shriek, “OH MY FUCKING GOD, SHE WROTE THIS SONG ABOUT ME.” At least, I would.
Oh yeah, and I’ll get around to reviewing this mess sometime soon.

According to HMV Japan: Yes. In an article posted yesterday, HMV reports that “It’s All In The Game,” a 1970 hit by the classic Motown group The Four Tops (a cover in and of itself), will be added as a Japanese bonus track on Britney‘s upcoming The Singles Collection.
And now, the song in question:
I think it’s fair to say that this is an objectively excellent choice, though I’m sort of hoping it sounds closer to the original than the Four Tops version. Controversial?
Soulful Brit Brit FTW!
