Dear Lady Gaga,

HAY GURL! Just heard your new track, “Alejandro.” Nice one! Yeah!

The thing is, you really have to stop the RedOne madness.

We all know that you’re super talented, but let’s not get too proud: Putting out the same song now for the fourth or fifth time in a row? “Just Dance” is to “Poker Face” is to “Money Honey” is to “Bad Romance,” and now of course, is to “Alejandro.”

The public is eventually going to catch on to the fact that you’ve been churning out the same song for over a year! Actually, I can’t be entirely sure of that (Lord knows, Cascada is still going strong in this market), but come on: The repeat-heavy chorus, the “muh-muh-muh” variants, the overused electro-sting noise…you’re making your own music sound dated before it’s even been released.

Oh, and for the record, this sounds just like Ace of Base’s sublime pop track, “Don’t Turn Around.” I liked it better the first time it came out.

Anyway, I have to go get ready to go out now. Can’t wait to hear the non-RedOne prouced songs off of The Fame Monster, especially “Telephone”!

Please give Rainer Marie Rilke and David LaChapelle my love, and let me know when you’re laying down your new single off of The Fame Monster 2.0, “Just Dance on My Bad Poker Face, Honey.”

Your on-again, off-again fan,
xoxo

Bad Romance and Alejandro do sound very much like her previous hits, but it’s a formula that works. It’s still her first album, so she can get away with it. I would agree she needs to let RedOne go (I have not heard one of his songs that doesn’t sound samey) for album #2 – it would be shameful if she still sounds the same…

Gaga isn’t about a formula. It’s about artistic integrity and celebration of the creative mind, body and soul.

Yes I agree, it all sounds the same. And the muh muh muh thing was horrid in the first place and it’s still here. She needs a real producer. And do I hear her using the rime “stick/sick” again on this one?

Oh dear…

This is a ridiculous “open letter”. Let’s just chalk it up to “Alejandro” just being an ok song…not a great one. I’ll admit as an “always on” Gaga fan that the song wasn’t pushing my pop buttons. I wanted something more. Anyone who doesn’t like “Bad Romance” can suck it. That track is Gaga in her purest form and is nothing short of magical. People’s expectations are quite high for an album that is really nothing more than a fan service. I mean, 8 new tracks and the album is barely a year old? I’m depressed that Rob Fuzari, producer of “Paparazzi” isn’t anywhere to be found on the producer credits for the new tracks…that track was prolly my favorite on “The Fame”. I still am thinking there’s another mind-blowing track or two. I’m a huge fan of Darkchild, but, he’s disappointed me, too. Anyway, enough ranting…just enjoy the tunes. :)

PS-The pic of Gaga used for this article is AMAZING. It needs to be said.

@Nick: Three things:

1. Calm down. I know the internet makes things appear to be serious business, but it’s all in jest. Also, it sounds like you’re on the same page with what I said in the letter, so I’m not entirely sure why it’s “ridiculous.”
2.. Agreed in regards to “Paparazzi,” which remains my favorite from the album ever since I heard it first in the Summer of ‘08.
3. Agreed again. The picture is fierceness.

Awfully greedy aren’t we? Gaga has perfected a sound with RedOne. They make amazing music together. If you havent noticed, no other artist he has worked with in the past couple years sounds as good as Gaga does with him. Also, its a re-release… so would you rather have 8 songs that sound completely off and different then the Gaga you’ve gotten to know over the past 1-2 years?… Personally, I’ll hold my breath on that for the next album. Also, for the record the only similarity Ive heard in any of her songs is Poker Face and Bad Romance, the rest – not really.

Dear Bradley,

HEY BOI!!!

Why don’t you just pick a side and stick with it!

It’s really getting annoying.

Jealous?

‘Alejandro’ will be a HIT if she releases the single. “You know that I love you boy Hot like Mexico, rejoice ” (favorite part!).

Same formula? this is not a NEW album, She’s re-releasing THE FAME! traveled around the world and now she’s talking about Alex!

Get a disco stick and play with it…

Thanks for the reply, Bradley, and rest assured…this all coming out of a place of love. Haha. I find even myself holding Gaga to impossibly high standards. That said, I’ll be the 1st to admit that, even given how goofy I feel singing “Ale-Alejandro” over and over again…the song is already starting to grow on me. I think it might get studio-fied a little more before the re-release, so, here’s hoping they spruce it up even more. And I’m with you that the non-RedOne tracks will prolly be more interesting and not so same-sounding. Altho, I’m with most other people when I agree that if it ain’t broke…don’t fix it. I think the track “Monster” is gonna be the one to watch for. Late November can’t come soon enough. Gaga for life!!! <3 <3 <3

I think the tracks, “bad romance” and “Alejandro” can carry the weight of re-releasing “the fame”. Its not bad that she uses the same techniques as before coz it make the “fame: monster” coherent and not like a jigsaw puzzle of sounds. But she won’t get away with it in her second album if she will have it. I’m a fan of her’s really but i know that having 2 albums that sounds the same will kill my respect for her artistry.
