Janet Jackson: Make Me (Video Premiere)

So much Janet in my life lately. Ever since I purchased the Number Ones collection, I just can’t stop (’til I get enough, as it were.)

The video for “Make Me” is essentially all one could hope for in a video to promote her greatest hits collection: Glamour shots, solid choreography, stylized camera techniques and edgy fashion. It’s just the right mix of all the essential Jackson elements, recalling the best moments of “Rhythm Nation,” “Scream,” and “Feedback” (amongst others) to remind us why she has always been the premiere princess of Pop.

Bravo, Ms. Jackson…bravo!

    Her best video in years (like 10?). I love how she looks in the bits where she’s leaning against the wall. But did you notice the random shot where it appears a behemoth white slug monster is crawling up being her? What was that? Anyway, the Scream references are clever too.

    Both the song and video are better than I expected, seeing as most of her output during the last five to ten years has been rather dull and a bit meh! Do I really need to buy the new greatest hits package if I already have Design Of A Decade? Not sure.
