Kids, don’t try this one at home.

Like a You Got Served challenge to Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies” routine (and its subsequent manifestations in later videos), Shakira‘s “Did it Again” repeats the success of prior single “She Wolf” by showcasing what the Colombian chanteuse offers best: Pure, carnal energy.

There’s no need for extensive set design, excessive camera techniques, or even cheap CGI effects: It’s just Shakira and her tall, delicious glass of agua rolling around in unison on a bed and getting sexy on each other.

Still, seeing such palpable passion and violent, erotic movement featured within the video, I’m tempted to pose the question: Has Shakira just established the mating dance of the new generation?

I don’t know, but it’s probably one of my favorites of the year.
