New Namie Amuro!

But before you get too excited, no–this is not a Lady Gaga cover.

In fact, before you get excited at all, the song’s actually not very good either.

I love me some Namie like no one’s business, but is anyone else a bit concerned about the Past < Future campaign as of late? None of the songs have actually won me over aside from “WILD.” Where’s all the hip-pop at, Amuro?

To be fair, the video is gorgeous. But still…

I don’t agree at all. I’ve loved everything so far (except for The Meaning of Us – I usually don’t like ballads anyway).

Agreed. Love Game is really monotonous and bland. The Meaning Of Us and My Love are the only songs that I like out of the leaked ones so far. I hope the rest of the album tracks are good.

Apparently Namie’s been working with a lot of different producers, since this is supposed to be one of her more ‘experimental’ albums, probably ala Style, except better than that album. I do know that this song was written by a US team, so that could account for that…

I actually really like this song… at first I wasn’t sure, but it grew on me. It’s surprising to me that the poster here so far only likes WILD and is wondering where all the Hip-Pop is, when WILD is far from being Hip-Pop. This song is probably the closest thing to Hip-Pop we’ve heard on the new album so far…

Judging from the PVs & leaked tracks, I don’t see how this album is experimental at all. It sounds exactly the stuff that is on Queen of Hip-Pop and whatever the record was that came out after it. Very basic urban tracks…with the claps turned up and minimal instrumentation. I was actually going to leave a comment and ask “has she been working with the same producers since ‘Queen of Hop-Pop?’” cause it’s all the same.

Go back to Style, Suite Chic & 60s70s80s, Namie. When you were a fierce ass bitch.

I totally disagree. This is actually a very cool track, though not her best. And I am lovin her new songs The Meaning of Us and Fast Car!!! My Love is pretty decent too! Can’t wait to get the cd!!! :D

Hmm… despite the almost embarrassing yet still cute ’cause it’s Namie ghetto posturing, I quite enjoy the song and video. I wish she’d stray far from the hip-pop and dive deeper into the electro-dance side (ala “What A Feeling”, “Black Diamond” and the almost killer “Rock U” – almost killer because that shrill chorus sound is heinous).

That’s true, which is why this album is such a disappointment for me. That’s the sound I was really looking for…not even hip-pop, but sleek electronica, which is probably why “WILD” is the only thing that excites me. The rest is really iffy.

Namie Amuro’s ALBUM is OUT for DOWNLOAD on many sites in .rar and .zip I OWN it and the BEST TRACKS ON IT ARE

Bad Habit, COPY THAT, FAST CAR, MY LOVE, Defend Love, WILD, Dr. , The MEANING OF US and Steal My Night was Ok as well.

And FOR ALL U PPL DISSIN NAMIE. SHE IS NOT A ROCK OR ELECTRONICA ARTIST SHE IS J-POP and R&B and J- Hip-Hop, AKA HIP-POP. GET IT? That means if you research her past work and sounds u see alot of hip-pop and r&b….NOT ROCK OR ELECTRONICA. Don’t say pointless things unless you know her past works.

    Negi:
Namie has only been doing full on Rnb and Hip pop for only a couple of years. Before that she was just doing Jpop under the helm of her producer Tetsuya Komuro. No one was dissing Namie, we just want the electronica laced Rnb dance music shes been doing lately because well at least i think it is, her best work.
