…looks like this.

‘Tis a rare situation, but every now and then an album’s cover art matches the quality of its musical offerings.

This is one of those times.

While I don’t know if I’ll get around to doing a proper review of the album right now, I’ll rattle through just a few of the influences and artists that even vaguely come to mind while listening to the record: Junior Boys, Miike Snow, Cut Copy, New Wave music, shoegaze, M83, The Killers, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, BWO and the Presets.

Make no mistake, though: There’s nothing derivative about this album. Delphic‘s debut, Acolyte, is fresh and promising, like the sound of a decade beginning anew.

    I completely agree.

BWO, The Presets, The Killers – Not words you often hear when describing the same act!

I have been thinking about this record for a few weeks and maybe need to play it more, but I really don’t find it all that amazing or fresh. I think it’s indie pop done in a good way, for sure, but the only song I really like so far is Remain.
