Still Nasty: Janet Jackson Performs on American Idol 2010 Finale

You didn’t think I’d forget, did you?

Last night, Janet Jackson performed at the American Idol finale.

Admittedly, it didn’t start out amazing. To start off, she had to stroll out to the insufferable glee-fest of contestants butchering “Again.” It was rough for me.

Then she busted out “Nothing,” which is just an absolutely tuneless, goes-nowhere ballad that I simply cannot force myself to get into. She sounded great (if that was actually live), but all I could think about was how fierce Miss Jackson was looking without any hair.

Then came the immortal words “Gimme a beat!” and all became right in the world.

Oh my God, that sashay down the stairs in the sheer-up-to-here body suit. I can’t even express it…She looked too good. Then there were some gyrations, and then the whole going down the line of dancers moment, and then came the “Miss Jackson, if you’re nasty” bit, and then she started yelling about the nasty food and then I got faint and don’t remember much of the rest to be quite honest with you.

Idol, legendary, iconic, amazing, etc.

I LOVE YOU, JANET.

    The Glee-fest also made me sick…
    The performance as a whole was mediocre, though she looked great after she took of that red and black frock. She barely danced, and she is the queen of the dance-break. I don’t know what vocals were live or not, but everything was pretty flat.

    Stop hating Michael, she is 44 now, she can’t be expected to bust out moves like crazy all the time.

    And Nothing is amazing. It’s a throwback to old 90′s ballads. That was the main part of the performance, Nasty was more of just a treat for the fans.

    She is a very sexy lass! I fear she doesn’t truly know it, though! Not to compare her to her brother, but he was a perfectionist. Not that she isn’t, but he was spot on, right to the last beat. Janet has “it” she just needs to strut “it”.

    Also, I believe Nothing, is from her new movie. So that explains a lot!

    Prophet, even if she’s 44, doesn’t mean she can’t dance anymore. MADONNA has demonstrated better dancing ability than what Janet showed on American Idol. Plus, what happened to the VMAs when she started busting out Michael’s moves to Scream? Or the AMAs when she was dancing like crazy for 8 minutes?

    I thought it was a pretty dull performance. Nothing is a pretty bad song, and if you’re gonna do something like “Nasty”, which has little actual vocal work, there has to be all kinds of crazy moves going on. We know she can do better.

    To be fair she was in heels and janet always wear flats wen shes goes flat out dancing. Come to think of it the only singer who can pull off full on dancing is probably Amuro Namie.
    The performance was okay….but im kinda over her always paying tribute to her glory days rather than move on to a new sound and the next stage of Janet.
