If you didn’t already know from my manic, semi-nonsensical tweets, I trekked down to the city yesterday to attend a private performance by the one and only Swedish princess of pop Robyn for iHeartRadio, which was taped at the P.C. Richard & Son Theater in Tribeca.

The singer performed her killer set of seven songs for an enamored crowd of sequined super fans and tattooed hipsters alike, beginning with Body Talk Pt. 1‘s “Cry When You Get Older” and finishing off with her international Kleerup-produced smash, “With Every Heartbeat.”

While the show was consistently solid throughout, the highlight for me started off with an unfamiliar series of icy electronic beats stuck on repeat. As the music progressed, the singer launched into the song’s instantly recognizable lyrics: It was “Be Mine,” and this mix was seriously the business.

I’d later come to find out from Muuser and soon-to-be All Hearts concert buddy Eric H. that the song was actually a remix that’s been out for a while–the Verschwende Deine Jugend mix. (Try saying that one three times fast.) I’m telling you, get on that shit NOW.

Since my friend and I were a bit, err…fashionably late for the performance, we ended up getting stuck towards the back of the venue. Standing at a whopping 5′ 4″ behind a general admission crowd, my view was limited at best. Nevertheless, I was still able to keep track of the superstar on stage by keeping my eyes trained the tuft of blonde hair gyrating about.

And in the short glimpses that I did catch of Robyn in performance mode–punching the air during the epic, rapid-fire synth breakdown of “Dancing On My Own,” hanging vulnerably onto the mic during an acoustic performance of “Hang With Me–I saw the same energetic, effervescent pop star that I’ve always known and loved.

Thanks to the magic that is today’s technology, you can now see the fabulous video of Robyn’s performance of “Dancing On My Own” last night on iHeartRadio right here.

It’s probably one of my favorite performances I’ve seen of the song thus far–and it doesn’t hurt that I caught it going down LIVE.

An amazing show, but this was really just a warm up session: The real fun begins when the All Hearts Tour hits NYC next week. Yeah…it’s going to get ridiculous. I’ll probably lose my pants.

Many thanks to my friend Charlie, who won tickets to attend the taping!

021 980x1024 Daily B: Leak Me, Baby...One More Time

Awful header, I know. NOT ENOUGH TIME TO BE CLEVER HERE.

I don’t know why, but I am on my hands and knees praising the Pop Gods right now: Two more Britney demos have surfaced since last night.

The first, “When I Say So,” was produced by BT during the Britney sessions.

A short song snippet originally leaked online a few months back, but the full version has finally come to see the light of day. It’s an incredibly strong number, featuring some confident talk about ‘getting some’ only when Britney says so (amazing), as well as some Michael Jackson-friendly cooing. It should have made the album.

(Link currently live here.)

The second, which only leaked minutes ago, is entitled “Mad Love.”

A far slinkier and smokier number, the demo (again from Riprock and Alex G) features Brit’s raspy baby vocals at their most vulnerable–not Autotuned, not (heavily) processed. The song brings to mind the Bollywood seduction of Madonna‘s “Candy Perfume Girl” and “Shanti/Ashtangi,” and it’s probably the closest we’ll come to getting some Ray Of Light soul searching from B Girl. It should have made the album.

TOO MUCH TO HANDLE.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD.

Pause.

CATOMGGIF Daily B: A New Britney Demo from 2001 Called Am I A Sinner? Surfaces, I Die

Breathe.

Muusers: This is an ACTUAL demo from Britney, reportedly found on a 2001 demo reel by Riprock ‘n’ Alex G which recently made its way onto eBay.

It is ALL shades of 2001 Britney-era B, alternating between the hard-hitting pop smack of album tracks like “Lonely” and the more sophisticated electronic vibes explored on cuts like the wildly-brilliant-but-overlooked “I Run Away.”

But there are elements that are entirely new: The middle eight around the 2:45 mark brings Pet Shop Boys-like ’80′s synth play; the spoken word intro a touch of Janet Jackson‘s “That’s The Way Love Goes.” In short, this is way more complex and musically interesting than what we were hearing come from Britney at the time.

Above all, the track seemingly provides a glimpse into the future: The lyrics that tempt the flames of religion and sexuality in one go (very “Like A Prayer,” I know) bring to mind the moodier cuts (“Mona Lisa”; “Guilty”; “Rebellion”) that came pouring out during–err, the beginning of the darker era.

“I confess if I’ve done wrong / But in your eyes, I see I’m guilty.”

Kristin E 1070 Web Introduucing...Kristine Elezaj!

This is Kristine Elezaj. She is an up-and-coming 24-year-old pop artist.

According to her official biography, Elezaj is “fierce, fun, edgy, and brave,” which I believe accounts for approximately 74.3% of the total ingredients necessary to concoct the Perfect Pop Star.

As far as comparisons are concerned, I’m seeing Holly Valance with a little bit more rhythm, hearing Heidi Montag with more talent (a bit of Alesha Dixon in moments as well), and recognizing Godney Spears and the Pussycat Dolls as the singer’s most obvious influences.

Kristine Elezaj has some promising songs and she’s made music videos with some fairly solid dancing (see above), but we’re here today to discuss “Warpath.”

“Warpath” is Elezaj’s upcoming single due out in September. It also happens to be amazing.

The song is what I would refer to as a proper ‘trash pop banger.’ It’s basically all about triflin’ men (“man whore”) and revenge and doing the daily chores (“taking out the trash”). There’s a chorus, but then there’s sort of a post-chorus chorus that’s arguably even better. There’s also some swearing here and there.

Now here’s a random list of amazing lyrics, sorted in order:

3. “You’re so dirty–should have known by now you’re a man whore.”
2. “You’re so dirty–should have known by now that this means WAR!”
1. “I saw that trick that you was with tonight / She was Justin Bieber‘s lookalike.”

There’s also a really genius Autotuned, “Disturbia”-esque “AH!” sound after each verse line which is brilliant.

And now, click above to hear an official snippet of “Warpath,” courtesy of Kristine Elezaj’s management. It happens to feature ALL THREE AMAZING LYRICS listed above.

See? It’s a stormer.

Kirstine Elezaj’s debut album will be released toward the end of 2010. For more information, check out her official website.
