Kimberly1 Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt Unveils Completely Insane Video for Buzz Track, Glaciers

This is the video for “Glaciers,” the buzz track from ex-PCD member Kimberly Wyatt‘s new side project, Her Majesty & The Wolves, but let’s cut straight to the chase: This shit is certifiably BANANAS.

Glittery face painting. Cheesy technicolor backgrounds. ‘State-of-the-art’ Photoshop effects. (GRADIENTS! EMBOSS!)

If you were a club kid dropping acid back in 1992, “Glaciers” will probably resonate for you. I imagine this is the kind of stuff that Richie Rich and Amanda Lepore see in their dreams at night (or whenever it is that they sleep).

I mean, HONESTLY. This shit is like a D-grade imitation of the already terrible video for Girls Aloud‘s “Something Kinda Oooh.”

You cannot tell me that while “Glaciers” was being shot, not once did the director come up to Kim and say something like: “Erm, Kim. Amazing job. Really. You’re a visionary. But don’t you think we should just do some leg splits around a ballet bar or something?”

I imagine this is the kind of fuckery you might get when an artist walks into a concept meeting prior to a video shoot and announces, “Yeah, I want it to be weird like Gaga. But I don’t want it to be like Gaga, you know? I just want to wear a silly hat.”

Then again, maybe it’s just too genius for me to understand. Yeah. It’s probably that.

you clearly didn’t see who the director was as this is her style and the music she has worked with in the past reflects this type of imaging. i bet you wanted and expected a typical glam video that is ruining tv and music, that’s right, you like shit music….point being i think this is great and vintage/lo-fi and shows that kim does not care what unqualified bloggers like you have to say. if rolling stone hires you give me a call, but until then you will always sit in your shit apartment and hope that one day you will be a writer or in the music industry. pick a new job.

‘Glam’ videos…like the ones Kim participated in when she was with the Pussycat Dolls and ‘ruining tv and music’? I wonder how highly you thought of her a few years ago?

For the record, I’m still a huge supporter of Kim’s solo career, but this video IS shit.

I’m wondering if they wanted to pay homage to those early 90′s trance videos. matches the music but why throw yourselves backwards visually when the music is doing that for you. Fun song, but I agree shit video.

Well the publicity photos were glam, her history is glam, even a name like Her Majesty and the Wolves is pretty glam (and modern!) So yeah I sort of expected something with a slightly higher budget, more choreography, and a director who wasn’t so obsessed with using filters just for the sake of using them. Love her, but not this.

Glam does not mean the typical bullshit (choreography, dancers, etc.) I think that’s the misconception here.
