Rihanna just tweeted a sneak peek pic from the video for “Only Girl (In The World).”

Doesn’t look too Mandler-esque, does it?

I wonder if this video is my Bajan beauty’s way of coming out as a looner. Guess we’ll find out.

P.S. I think I’m the only boy (in the world) who’s still okay with red-locked RiRi. I just am!

On Friday night, Kylie Minogue performed “Get Outta My Way” on The Paul O’Grady Show.

Much as with any of her other performances during the Aphrodite era, Kylie has reduced me to little more than a puddle of hearts and glitter while watching. Literally. I’m incapable of withholding a grin when I’m watching her perform…it’s cute overload!

As with the latest string of “Get Outta My Way” performances, Mizz Minogue kept it classy with her chair routine and a boatload of vogue-rrific hand moves and poses. It seems she’s switched up some of the moves ever so slightly again, which is nice because each performance of the song thus far has had its own special little moments.

You’ll also need to watch this brief clip of Kylie being interviewed by O’Grady–and being introduced to an aged version of herself, played by none other than her twinkle-toed bestie, Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears. It’s a must see!

Please, remember everyone–”Get Outta My Way” is being released TOMORROW in the UK. Let’s do one of the greatest singles of 2010 proper justice and give it its rightful #1 debut, okay?

Click here to order the single in various formats on Kylie’s website. (The 3-piece bundle is headed to my doorstep as we e-speak!)

voodoo cds front small 1 Introduucing...Andrea Lewis!

Meet Andrea Lewis.

Perhaps you’ve seen her around: The actress-turned-singer is best known for her role as Hazel Aden in five seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation, as well as a role in Nickelodeon’s first ever musical, Spectacular!

Now, feel free to add “One to Watch” to her repertoire.

On October 10 (10/10/10), Lewis will be unleashing a free album on her blog (Those Girls Are Wild–which I am assured is not porn).

“Voodoo” is the first single from the upcoming effort.

Despite what you might assume from an actress-turned-singer, “Voodoo” is not the by-the-numbers electro-pop track you may be expecting: Like her Degrassi roots, Lewis’ single goes there.

“Let’s get it!” Lewis yelps in the track’s first few opening seconds. Accompanied by funk-ified hand claps, organs, and spacey synthesizers, Lewis’ voice is fiery and earnest–like a cross between Alesha Dixon and Janelle Monae–allowing her to riff and leap through the song’s catchy melodies with ease.

The track, which was co-penned by Lewis and her partner, Ty Lorraine, was produced by Ty Steez.

If the rest of the album is as top notch a production as “Voodoo,” someone’s going to have a record deal very soon. After all, a music career spun from the roots of Degrassi seemed to work nicely for Drake, didn’t it?

DL: Andrea Lewis – Voodoo

Andrea Lewis’ upcoming album, 54321, will be released on October 10 on her website.

rhythmandmuuse MuuCast Episode Six: Rhythm & Muuse

It’s recently come to my attention that far too little attention is paid to my R&B songstresses as of late–it’s time to change that.

“Rhythm & Muuse” is a 15-track collection of just a taste of the finest R&B-laced cuts I’ve come to love over the past few years, from Cassie to Amerie to Ciara and K. Rowland, with loads of amazing artists fit snugly in between.

This was an impossible MuuCast to create–mostly because I started out with 45 potential tracks. As a result, it’s clear that there will be many more installments of “Rhythm & Muuse” to come. Consider this an introductory piece.

The goal was to include one song per artist, but–let’s face it. Ciara delivers too much fire to handle.

This mix is ready for both the dance floor and the bedroom floor, so prepare yourselves accordingly.

Now please: Turn your swag on like X Factor‘s Cher, won’t you?

Right. Well, remember when Whitney and Mariah did that song together? It’s like, clearly they did a song together, so it’s not all that damn bad. As long as we respect each other, it’s okay. She does what she does, and I do what I do, and that’s that. You’re either a forgiving person and you can move on or you can hold on to those things. I’m not one of those people. I’m not gonna be a victim to what happened. It’s over. Bye. Keep it pushing.

Ex-PCD member and soon-to-be solo sensation Melody Thornton on whether or not a feud exists between herself and Miss Scherzy, from an interview with Vibe Magazine.

Click here to see the rest of the required reading, which contains about a dozen or so other quotable quotables about her upcoming music, girl group and label dramz, and of course, Nicole Scherzinger.

New Melody tunes cannot come soon enough!

So everyone and their estranged god-mother may be getting their tits out about Kitty Purry‘s salacious sex romp on Sesame Street as of late, but it’s this magical moment from speed metal trio N*Sync that’s got my full attention.

In what is perhaps the most important television moment since the staged landing on the moon, watch as professional actor Justin Timberlake and various frosted-tipped, closeted men awkwardly lip-synch in front of some young furry puppets (as well as the characters of Sesame Street.)

In a word: Inspiring.

Thanks for posting this one on my wall, Muuser Michael.

Screen shot 2010 09 23 at 7.04.26 PM Rihanna Reigns at Number Two and Three on Billboard Hot 100, Continues Streak of Flawlessness and Perfection

Above is an official MuuMuse analysis of this week’s Billboard Hot 100 Chart, which was published earlier today.

As you can see, Robyn ‘RiRi’ Fenty‘s collaboration with Eminem, “Love The Way You Lie,” holds strong at #2, while–quite impressively–the singer’s latest single, “Only Girl (In The World),” has made a massive leap from #75 to #3 in just a week’s time.

The chart numbers serve as further proof against malicious Internet allegations that Rihanna’s reign has, in fact, let up.

mcelderry1 A Completely Objective Review of the Video for Joe McElderrys Ambitions

The video for X-Factor winner Joe McElderry‘s debut single “Ambitions” has arrived. It is both (A) glorious and (B) stunning.

Now here is an objective account of the various things that happen in the video:

+ First we have Joe looking flawless and gorgeous, like a sweet, beautiful angel sent from Heaven on a mission to capture my heart.

mcelderry2 A Completely Objective Review of the Video for Joe McElderrys Ambitions

+ Then there’s something dancing the streets that doesn’t make much sense at all for the song, but it sure looks like everyone’s having an absolute blast.

+ Then there’s a moment where the boy drops all these papers and so Joe comes over to pick them up, and you think to yourself while you’re watching alone in the dark “OH MY GOD. Is this it? Are they going to make out?! He’s smiling–they’re totally–OH MY GOD. I think they’re going to make out! Is this about to be a major moment in pop his–” and then the boy stands up and throws the papers all over Joe in some weird sort of celebratory moment.

So self-defeating. Why’d you pick them up in the first place, asshole?

And then there’s that extended final glance at the video’s end. Deep and searching, as though he were piercing STRAIGHT INTO YOUR SOUL with his Adonis-like face.

Don’t worry, Joe…you and I both know who that look is reserved for.

And there you have it: An objective review of the musical video for “Ambitions.”
