The Official Cover Art for Beyonce’s New Single “Run The World (Girls)” Was Just Released, And It’s…
MAJOR!
Just stunning. But who’s surprised, honestly?
And in case you missed it earlier, check out this handy guide for understanding the new singles from Gaga and Beysus.
Rihanna just slayed your faves.
After snatching the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with her latest single “S&M,” Princess RiRi just smashed a butt-load (note: industry term) of records.
From Billboard:
+ Rihanna bests the five-year, four-month span between current Island Def Jam labelmate Mariah Carey’s first (“Vision of Love,” Aug. 4, 1990) and 10th (“One Sweet Day,” Dec. 2, 1995) toppers to complete the quickest sprint to 10 Hot 100 No. 1s among solo artists. (Carey collected the first 15 of her 18 career No. 1s while signed to Columbia Records).
+ Among all acts, Rihanna trails only the Beatles (one year, eight months and one week) and the Supremes (two years, eight months and three weeks) for the fastest accumulation of 10 Hot 100 No. 1s.
+ Rihanna is additionally the youngest artist to notch 10 No. 1s in the Hot 100′s archives. At 23 years, two months and one week, Rihanna (born Feb. 20, 1988) eclipses the mark established by Carey, who was 25 years, eight months and one week old when she tallied her 10th Hot 100 leader.
+ Rihanna is just the ninth artist to total at least 10 Hot 100 No. 1s and the fifth solo female, following Mariah Carey (18), Madonna (12), Whitney Houston (11) and Janet Jackson (10).
+ All versions of the song, which claims the Hot 100′s Digital Gainer award and becomes Rihanna’s record-extending 10th No. 1 on Digital Songs, sold a combined 293,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 108% increase over last week. The Spears-assisted version of the track accounted for 66% of the song’s overall weekly digital sum.
Plus, because of the Britney-assisted “Rih-Mix” released last week, Britney is now counted as a “featured artist”–meaning “S&M” also counts as Britney’s 5th #1 single since “Hold It Against Me”!
Now listed as featured artist on “S&M,” Spears earns her fifth Hot 100 No. 1 and second this year, following her own “Hold It Against Me” in January. She had previously reigned with her debut single “…Baby One More Time” in 1999 and returned to the summit with “Womanizer” (2008) and “3″ (2009).
In related news: National news sources are now confirming that the letting up potential for Rihanna’s reign has dropped from “not very likely” to “just won’t.”

In the past week, we’ve seen the leak of two major pop singles from two major female pop stars: Lady Gaga‘s “Judas” and Beyoncé‘s “Girls (Who Run The World).”
Naturally, this can be a very confusing and uncomfortable time for any pop lover. You’ve probably got plenty of questions: What am I listening to? Why does this song sound like that other song? What’s an ear condom? Am I pregnant now?
Here now is a helpful chart to help better understand the various complexities and inner workings of each song.
You’re welcome.
filed under: Cher, Deborah Cox, Hot Club Track Of The Week, Lady Gaga, LL Cool J, Musiq Soulchild, Muuses, Talia Coles, Teddy Riley
Having already provided her songwriting skills to artists including LL Cool J, Musiq Soulchild, Teddy Riley and Deborah Cox, Harlem-born singer-songwriter Talia Coles is no stranger to the music industry.
Yet “Never See You Again,” Coles’ first release since her 2010 Dancehall mix-tape smash “Nikki Wine,” marks a personal milestone: It’s Coles’ first solo single to chart.
“Never See You Again,” which was penned by the singer herself and produced by Teetimus, aches with a deep throb and deliciously layered vocals–a production that falls somewhere in between the dark-pop sound of a Stargate song (“S&M”) and the Euro-trance euphoria of Cher‘s Living Proof. (Calling all fans of “Music’s No Good Without You”!)
The song also contains a brief verse by up-and-coming rapper, KO Stiggity who–according to my estimations–unarguably commands one of the best names in rap that I’ve ever heard in my life. But who is he, exactly? Well, just think of him as the Colby O’Donis to Coles’ Lady Gaga. Just dance…it’ll be okay!
“Never See You Again” continues to climb on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play charts (currently sitting at #24) after having spent over 9 weeks on the chart.
A video for the song has already been shot and will be released shortly.
“Never See You Again” was released on March 1. (iTunes)
You’ve heard that she can take it to the next level, baybeh…and now, she’s proving it!
Britney‘s Till The World Ends: The Remixes was just released to iTunes, featuring seven delicious new remixes to keep you movin’ when you lose it hard. Check below for the full tracklisting:
1.Till The World Ends 3:58
2.Till The World Ends [Bloody Beatroots Extended Remix] 4:06
3.Till The World Ends [White Sea Extended Club Remix] 4:50
4.Till The World Ends [Kik Klap Radio Remix] 3:41
5.Till The World Ends [Alex Suarez Radio Remix] 3:56
6.Till The World Ends [Friscia and Lamboy Club Remix] 9:57
7.Till The World Ends [Varsity Team Radio Remix] 4:15
8.Till The World Ends [Karmatronic Extended Club Remix] 6:47
The collection finds Brit Brit bringing some fairly indie acts into the mix, including Bloody Beatroots and M83 member White Sea.
The White Sea Extended Remix is a spooky, shoegaze-friendly take on B’s original, smothering it with weird ambient beats, crashing electronica, echoed moans and…dolphin noises in the distance? I don’t even know, but I bet it’s right up Brit Brit’s alley.
Till The World Ends: The Remixes was released on April 15. (iTunes)
On May 3, Sade will release The Ultimate Collection, a 2-CD, 29 track collection of the group’s most iconic songs, including four brand new tracks.
The legendary front-woman of the group has already uploaded three of the four new tracks from the collection, including “I Would Have Never Guessed,” “The Moon And The Sky (Remix feat. Jay-Z)” and my favorite of the bunch “Love Is Found,” which wraps Sade’s signature cooed vocals around sharp piano chords, grinding guitars, orchestral strings, horns and a wicked hip-hop beat. It’s fantastic!
For Muusers who’ve yet to be properly introduced to Sade, this is the truly the best way to begin exploring their discography! Click “Read More…” to see the full tracklisting.
The album is currently available for pre-order at Sade’s official website, which also includes an accompanying DVD. Sade will be touring this summer–check here to see all of the concert dates. (iTunes)

Last night, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne visited Piers Morgan Tonight to discuss their current projects. (WATCH)
Things started to get interesting when Piers decided to question Kelly–currently the face of Madonna’s daughter Lourdes‘ fashion line, Material Girl–about Madonna’s parenting skills, suggesting that she was a bad mother for allowing Lourdes to be a public figure.
“You just don’t like her, so stop!” Kelly coolly dismissed Morgan after he accused Madonna of “making” Lourdes a celebrity. “Lourdes is one of the most polite…well-rounded girls I’ve ever met in my life.”

Listening post!
It’s the first taste of Beyoncé‘s latest single, “Girls (Who Run The World).” Check out the full stream above, courtesy of Rap-Up!
According to multiple reports, this is a demo/unfinished version (which seems obvious enough from the DJ call outs, seemingly unfinished bridge and shortened introduction.) The official version will reportedly have a much longer intro.
Though its far too early to shape a concrete opinion on the Major Lazer-sampling single, I’m already digging it from what I’ve heard. A disjointed club banger…giving me some total “Lose My Breath” vibes!
