If you’re not already familiar with Hed Kandi, you should be: The sleek, stylish UK record label is responsible for releasing some of my favorite compilations of lesser known dance/house/lounge music, and I’ve always seemed to find at least one new act to obsess over as a direct result of their collections. (Oh, and their illustrated album covers are a work of art–see above.)
On January 23, Hed Kandi released Winter Chill–a spine-tingling 2-CD mixture of ambient, trip-hop and downtempo electronica cuts perfectly chilled for the snowy season.
I’ve been loving up the collection for weeks now, which includes offerings by SBTRKT, Switch, Fink, Mark Ronson & The Business Intl, Maya Jane Coles, Tensnake and many others, and now I want to share the wealth.
