Kylie Minogue Wows at Opening Night of Anti Tour

Kylie Minogue, The Only Pop Star Amazing Enough To Tour Her Own B-Sides, kicked off her highly anticipated Anti Tour last night in Melbourne.

As previously reported, the stripped down set was dedicated to the hardcore KM fans only, devoid of any one “hit” song. And so she delivered: The set-list from the evening includes B-sides, album tracks and rarities aplenty, including I’m Over Dreaming (Over You)” and “Enjoy Yourself” from the Enjoy Yourself era, “B.P.M.” from Ultimate Kylie era (YES!), “Paper Dolls” and “Bittersweet Goodbye” from the Light Years era, “Stars,” “Magnetic Electric” and “Cherry Bomb” from the X era, “Drunk,” “You’re The One” (!) and “I Don’t Need Anyone” from the Impossible Princess era, and a handful of other carefully curated cuts, all arranged by Mizz Minogue’s faithful music man, the genius Mr. Steve Anderson.

Below is official footage from Team Kylie of the event, and as you can see, it was just about as stripped down and personal as a superstar could possibly get: A few band players, a few back-up singers, and the disco diva herself, clad in a Marilyn Monroe vintage tee from Westwood which she first wore in 1994 (incredible), Dolce & Gabbana jean shorts and Giuseppe Zanotti boots.

Oh, and there was confirmation that it was being filmed. That might have just been for the video above, but let’s hope the full production makes it onto a DVD!

I’m seven shades of green with envy for the lucky Aussies who got to attend last evening (I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky). Oh, Queen Kylie–how good you are to your faithful and adoring fans. Here’s yet another hope and a prayer that the Anti Tour takes off internationally as well!
