Mutya Keisha Siobhan Make Live Comeback During Ponystep’s New Year’s Eve Party

Mutya Keisha Siobhan

Girls Aloud wasn’t the only girl group ringing in the New Year with something new.

MKS–the holy trinity of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy (also known as the Origibabes)–made their secret live comeback last night.

WHAT.

YES, it’s a fact: The iconic UK girl group trio teamed up for the first time in 12 years (!!!) on stage for Ponystep‘s New Years Eve party last night (the troupe shot the cover for the magazine recently), performing a slew of Suga classics, including “Overload,” “Freak Like Me,” “New Year”–and a cover of Rihanna‘s “Diamonds.” (!)

Appropriately, the crowd was thrown into a tizzy of ecstasy, disbelief and wonderment, so it’s sort of hard to see/hear–especially over the drunk man’s excitable sing-shouting. (THANK YOU SIR, WE GET IT.) But it’s happening. It’s real. The MKS girls are performing live again, and it’s fantastic.

There’s honestly way too much to process: The original Suga stool routine for “Overload”? Siobhan handling Heidi‘s vocals on “Freak Like Me”? Their individual runs at the end of “Diamonds”?! How absolutely incredible do all three look and sound–both individually and together as a group? Up-and-coming girl groups, take notes: These are actual vocals. This is actual harmony.

Fasten your wigs, and prepare for the legendary return of MKS in 2013.
