Follow Me Releases Debut Single, “Somethin’ Bout You”

Follow Me

Meet Follow Me, the newest addition to the HeavyRoc Music roster.

After putting their fantastic, summery spin on Alison Valentine‘s “Peanut Butter,” the electronic production duo (known individually as Joe Spagna and Anthony Vertullo) signed to the steadily growing NYC indie label, home to acts like The Knocks and Alex Winston.

“Somethin’ About You” is Follow Me’s first official release off of HeavyRoc, and it’s rock solid: A throbbing slice of deep disco, chopped vocals, bouncy synths and bright, flashing strobes that brings another early ’90’s House-inspired act currently sizzling the summer scene to mind: Disclosure. (Also, it’s free.)

Follow Me previously teamed up with our always forward-thinking, disco-minded blog BFFs Hard Candy for a special mixtape back in December. The remixes they crafted prior to the signing are also definitely worth mentioning as well, including re-rubs of TLC‘s “Unpretty” and the Isley Brothers“Prize Possession,” which inject a kind of spacey, sultry disco sound to the classic R&B productions, as well as “Aaliyah,” which borrows from the R&B angel’s “If Your Girl Only Knew.”

Give it a spin and get into the groove — I’m anticipating big things very soon.
