BANKS, “This Is What It Feels Like” Video Premiere: The Sexiest Rainy Day Ever

BANKS, mysteriously moody singer of songs (and The Weeknd‘s favorite new brooding tour buddy), is back for more.

The LA based singer-songwriter has already come a long way since I first wrote about her creeping “Fall Over” B-side back in February, the Fiona Apple-like “Before I Ever Met You.” After the premiere of her gorgeous video for “Waiting Game” in August, the LA-based singer-songwriter just dropped a video (in color for the very first time!) for “This Is What It Feels Like,” one of the songs featured on her London EP, which was just released on September 10.

The dark, slinky production creeps along at a tantalizing “come hither” pace, allowing delicate drums, winding synthesizers and warm flares of ambient sound to carry Banks’ fluttering vocals across the soundscape. “Bring it down, bring it on / Bring it now,” she commands, her vocals layered and echoing to an otherworldly degree. “This is what it feels like,” she breathes. It’s a sensual lil’ slow burner with a mystical feel (#SomethingMoreTantric) — a solid slice of late night seduction.

The accompanying video sure ain’t too hard to watch, either: BANKS is stuck inside because of some bad weather — but she doesn’t seem to mind, escaping into her own thoughts instead. Watch as she writhes and pouts her way throughout the clip, staring out the window and bumping up against the kitchen sink. How else should one spend a rainy day in but with a bit of solo sensual seduction?

This feels, looks and sounds like heaven to me.

‘London EP’ was released on September 10. (iTunes)
