The Celine Dion Comeback Begins With “Loved Me Back To Life”: Her Massive, Sia-Penned Single

Celine Dion doesn’t need radio, but based on the strength of her upcoming material, she just might find herself broadcasting right alongside her twenty-something contemporaries this fall.

“Loved Me Back To Life,” her utterly massive comeback ballad, is about to take off on September 3, and there’s simply no denying it — it’s an instant smash.

Produced by Sham and Motesart and penned by Sia (obviously, who else?), the power ballad allows the Canadian crooner to belt with all her might as per usual, but with a distinctly modern twist in the production that feels authentic to both her own brand and today’s sound. It’s gorgeous and, as with most of Sia’s ballads, devastatingly emotional.

She’s already performed the song live, and earlier this week, she uploaded a tease of the goosebump-inducing studio version on her website.

See? Huge. UPDATE: The single is officially out on iTunes.

Celine spoke to Billboard about her upcoming album out in November (titled after her lead single), which revealed a bunch of thrilling news: Adele, Babyface, Tricky Stewart, Ne-Yo and Play Production all had a hand in the album tracks, and she’s covering Janis Ian‘s “At Seventeen” and Stevie Wonder‘s “Overjoyed” — who also joins her on the song.

The album sounds incredibly promising, but my favorite part of the article is Celine’s outlook:

“I’m at the mercy of the songs because I don’t write my material. But I could not believe what I was hearing. I’m not trying to reinvent myself, I don’t want people to think. ‘This is a brand new Celine,’ but I am at a place in my career where I’m 45, I’m at the peak of my life, and I’ve never felt like this before. I want to have a good time.”

A new day has come.

“Loved Me Back To Life” will be released on September 3. (iTunes)
