Betty Who, “Somebody Loves You (Starsmith Remix)”

betty-who-starsmith

My darling Betty Who‘s “Somebody Loves You” — one of the best pop tracks of the year! — just keeps getting big-gah.

After causing a commotion with a wildly viral Home Depot engagement video, followed by a slammin’ remix by the Jump Smokers, the song’s now getting a re-rub by the reliably amazing Starsmith. You already know the talented UK producer/singer-songwriter for his work on much of Ellie Goulding‘s debut, as well as Kylie‘s “Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love),” and a bunch of other key pop gems.

The Starmith mix takes the track and gives it a slightly grittier, slightly sparklier electronica ditty, rounding out the ’80’s-leaning Whitney Houston-ness of the original and making it a lil’ bit more Williamsburg-friendly. It’s just as euphoric as ever, but with a lil’ bit of extra crunch and gloss. (Betty is both edgy and glam, after all.) Also, it’s free. So there’s that.

Watch out for more amazing things coming from Miss Who very, very soon.

‘The Movement EP’ was released on September 17. (iTunes)
