‘Aquarius’: Tinashe’s Debut Album Arrives In October

It’s finally happening: Tinashe‘s debut studio album is heading our way.

After years of dropping immaculate mixtapes and collaborations, as well as her certified smash “2 On” at the start of 2014, my favorite future-R&B darling is stepping out with her debut LP Aquarius on October 7.

The record, which promises to be “a nod to her ’90’s upbringing with her DNA planted firmly in the future,” features a ton of collaborators, including DJ Mustard, Redwine and DJ Marley Waters, Boi-1da, Jasper, Future, Stargate and “several other surprise guests.” Hmm…

“Aquarius is my official album introduction to the world and represents a new season of music and art. I cannot wait to finally share with the world what I have been working so hard on for the past few years. This is just the beginning,” she says in the official press release.

The second single from the album, the Detail-produced “Pretend” featuring A$AP Rocky, will arrive later in August.

This’ll be one of the year’s finest, for sure.

While we wait for the new single, and as the midnight hour approaches, let’s get lost in a ghostly late night cut from Tinashe’s first mixtape, In Case We Die.

“2 On” was released on January 21. (iTunes)
