“Make Me”: The Gloriously Artsy-Fartsy Return of Britney Spears

The Legendary Miss Britney Spears is kicking off her ninth album campaign at last — and she’s doing things a little different this time around.

I apologize in advance for not saying too much of substance about this song at the moment: I’ve already spilled my guts out — all 1,100+ words of it! — over at PopCrush about my baybeh, The Legendary Miss Britney Spears and her brand new single “Make Me (feat. G-Eazy),” but I also didn’t want to leave a blank space (TAS Rights Management, please don’t sue me) on my other baybeh, MuuMuse, on such a monumental occasion.

I’m so enamored with the richness of this production, and I’m so in love with Britney’s beautiful vocals (she sounds present!), and I’m so excited about this new musical direction upon which our beloved Holy Spearit is now embarking. Her career genuinely hasn’t felt this artistically ambitious (“artsy-fartsy”), innovative (“left lane”) and thrilling (“cool”) since, quite possibly, In The Zone. The Britney Army also hasn’t ever felt so thirsty — I do hope you’re all finally getting some satisfaction. (REFERENCE.)

Britmas doesn’t come ’round too often — bask in the glory of this most holy of release days. God(ney), I love me some B! Here’s to a brand new era, bitch.
