PUT YOUR HANDS UP!

Kylie Minogue is about to release a set of remix EPs for her massive Starsmith-produced Aphrodite track, “Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love).”

The two EPs–which will be released on June 5 in the UK–feature several different remixes, including offerings from Pete Hammond (listen now!), Bimbo Jones and Nervo, as well as a live cut from the Aphrodite Les Folies Tour. The first EP also features a brand new B-side from the Aphrodite era: “Silence,” which you can now hear below. (Thanks for the link, WeArePopSlags!)

“It feels so right, you can’t deny / The best is what you haven’t heard,” Mizz Minogue croons above moody strings and a steady electronic pulse. Slightly more moody than the bulk of Aphrodite, “Silence” is a more sophisticated comedown from the hyper-happiness of its accompanying track–think of it as the “I Know” or “Made of Glass” from Ultimate Kylie! Love it!

The remix EP will also be released in the US beginning tomorrow, May 31.

Both BIMBO JONES and FREEMASONS are exceedingly successful production duos who have together dominated the UK and US club charts for the last five years. Name a top-selling club hit and chances are the hit mixes are by BIMBO JONES or FREEMASONS or both, as in the case of Alexis Jordan’s dance hit, “Good Girl” or Rihanna’s “Only Girl In The World.”

Lee Dagger is the front man DJ of UK production duo BIMBO JONES (with Marc “JB”), who as a team have produced over 70 #1 pop and dance chart singles and remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga, Rihanna, The Killers, Kylie (“She loved the Bimbo Jones T-shirt I gave her and asked us to remix her again!”), Katherine Ellis, Usher to Tom Jones and Annie Lennox.

FREEMASONS are Russell Small and James Whiltshire. Together since 2005, they are known for chart-topping original productions for top pop divas like Sophie Ellis Bextor, Kylie, Whitney, and Beyonce. Recent remixes include Shakira’s “Loca” and Winter Gordon’s “Believer.” They’re currently working on the new album with a little help from Kylie. (Shhh!.) It’s official: Lady Gaga is going to die on stage.

The singer has just announced a string of concerts in 2011 for her seemingly endless Monster Ball Tour Starring Lady Gaga, thus all but confirming my suspicions of her on-stage death wish.

I’m not trying to be rude. In fact, I’m being quite honest…she’s literally going to work herself until she can perform no more! Take a rest, for Alejandro’s sake.

Lady Gaga‘s “Bad Romance” Remix EP hit iTunes yesterday, including four mixes from Chew Fu, Kaskade, Bimbo Jones, and Skrillex–all of which you can hear at Lala. (I’m loving that site lately!)

My recommendation? Hit the Chew Fu H1N1 Fix first, and let your “free bitch” freak flag fly.

Tired of “If U Seek Amy” already?

Sure hope not, because it’s time to get moving. The song has been steadily rising on the Billboard Hot 100 over the past few weeks, jumping from #35 to #26 this week and expected to only continue climbing.

While I’d initially hoped that the upcoming suite of professional mixes would fare well for the song’s danceability, I’m not so sure anymore. Frankly, they’re just plain generic.

On one hand is the Mike Rizzo mix, a rather expected affair of increased tempo and minimal bass–predictable, tame, and easily forgettable.

Then we’ve got the Bimbo Jones mix, which gets a little creative at first with a nice and stuttery introduction, but ultimately fails to slop into anything more exciting.

Where’s the energy, people?

Hipster electro remix outfits…report to the dancefloor immediately!
