004 Daily B: Look Whos Talking Now Demo Finally Leaks in Full

STOP BREATHING: NEW (OLD) BRITNEY.

It’s been leaking in snippets and bits for weeks now, but alas–Britney‘s original demo for “Look Who’s Talking” has finally surfaced, thanks to the boys and girls (begging to If U Seek Amy) at BadMediaKarma!

The Bloodshy & Avant-produced, Godney co-penned track was first featured on K-Pop superstar BoA‘s 2009 self-titled US debut (as you all already knew because you read every single Daily B ever), and fans have long been waiting to hear B’s original demo.

Recorded around In The Zone and before the lost Original Doll sessions, “Look Who’s Talking Now” seemingly captures a sparkle of Rebellionney in the making: “Controversy is like a ticking time bomb/Controversy is what they want/You best believe that’s not what I spend my time on/Controversy is all they want,” B fiercely purrs during the middle eight. And those signature Britney riffs at the end? YUM!

She may not be releasing new music in ’12, but yet we’ve still got new Godney to celebrate…so let’s dance!

Think you got her figured out?
Well, look who’s talking now…it’s B!

MG 3506F Bonnie McKee Readies Solo Career, Will Be Unstoppable

Bonnie McKee just tweeted that she’s in New York shopping for record deals. Here’s why you should care:

At the age of 16, the self-described wild child’s big voice and startlingly self-assured songwriting chops ignited a fierce bidding war between Interscope and Warner Brothers. After eventually signing with Warner, Bonnie’s debut LP, Trouble, was released in 2004. It was a radio-friendly collection of provocative yet polished pop-rock, but — mismanaged and mismarketed to an oversaturated public — the album failed to make a commercial splash.

It wasn’t until Bonnie was dropped by Warner that her songwriting career really kicked into gear, after her friendship with Katy Perry (who Bonnie met in a Los Angeles thrift store) led Bonnie to begin collaborating with hitmaker Dr. Luke.

With Luke and a handful of other famous friends, Bonnie co-wrote “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” and upcoming single “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” for Katy’s sophomore effort — as well as “Dynamite” by Taio Cruz and “Hold It Against Me,” “Inside Out,” and “How I Roll” for Britney’s Femme Fatale. (Reportedly, she’s also penned tracks for Kelly Clarkson’s upcoming fifth album.)

Between the confessional intimacy of her early work (especially “Somebody” and “Sensitive Subject Matter” from Trouble) and the infectious giddiness of her recent tracks with Luke, Max Martin, and Bloodshy & Avant, it’s obvious that Bonnie’s a force to be reckoned with as a writer. But she’s also a powerful vocalist entitled to far more than the limited exposure she’s received so far as a recording artist.

The most gifted songwriters can stumble on their way to the spotlight — Ester Dean’s anticlimactic solo career comes to mind — but Bonnie’s one artist whose comeback will be fully earned. As far as I’m concerned, anyone responsible for writing the hook on “Teenage Dream” deserves my full attention.

Femme Fatale britney spears 19519013 500 500 Britney Spears: Femme Fatale (Album Review)

To review a new Britney Spears record, for me, is a bit like asking a crazed pageant mother if she believes her daughter is a star.

Sure, she might have spilled apple juice (or Cheetos, more fittingly) all over her glitz costume, forgotten the steps to her baton routine halfway through the performance and fallen asleep onstage, but in the end, she’s still Miss Grand Supreme in my eyes.

This is what journalists often refer to as “full disclosure.” With all that being said…let’s do this.

If I said my heart was beating loud…

britney slave for you Daily B: Dr. Luke Leaks Another New Snippet from Femme Fatale: How I Roll

CANNOT HANDLE THE SHEER FIRE.

I was finally online to catch Dr. Luke in the act of leaking another snippet (or as MuuMuse contributor Sam Lansky coined them: a “brippet”) on Twitter tonight–and oh my Godney…it’s a doozy!

This one’s called “How I Roll,” produced by the legendary Swedish production duo, Bloodshy & Avant (“Toxic,” Radar”).

Gasps galore? Check. Breathy vocal stutters? Check. Hand claps, electronica stings, and piano chords? Check, check, check!

“How I Roll” sounds like a booty bouncin’, alcohol sippin’ mid-tempo jam, like everything “Tell Me What You’re Sippin’ On” promised it would be in the title. (No shade to the song, but come on–this is ten times more killer!)

And…coffin. March 29, where you at?!

THIS IS THAT NEXT LEVEL ‘ISH!

Britney4 Daily B: William Orbit Out, Will.I.Am In for Femme Fatale

In a somewhat booze-inspired rant on Twitter tonight, William Orbit revealed that his contribution to Britney‘s Femme Fatale will not make the final tracklisting of the album.

Here are his words in full, minus a few extraneous tweets and/or replies:

the Britney thing. Look, I went to a writing camp at Teresa’s. Had lovely time. Word got out. Assumptions were made. Dr Luke is exec prod and he locks in locks out whoever he likes. And (do i hear u ask) where B’s at in all this? I surely don’t know. did a song w Klas Ahlund, who wrote ‘Piece of Me’. And is killa. But not on FF apparently. But a good song is a good song regardless. gotta say, to me, a tru singa just wants 2 sing all the time. But some are only up for it till their mojo cranks out. some things are of the moment. And a few months beyond. And some r forever. U know that in your heart. see blank looks, then years later, the kudos. All means nuthin. We’ll see what we we’ll see. So if u’all could ease up on the Brit Q,s Don’t ask me, I’m not the glitz guy. Enjoy the FF!

seriously, Bloodshy and Avant r on there? They MUST be. ifAnyone they MUST be on there!!! Who’s got the scoop on this? really, this is going to be a fab album. Whichever way, it’s going to be anotha part of the Britney legend. I shulda said nothin. don’t worry, is going to be fine. U’ll be jumpin up n down and singing. Britney is the best. And her prods. It is what it is, lol. omg, what a fireworks. please b frosty. Is all good and i never had so much fun in my life in this brave nu world. Am happy top b the rookie. u’all gotta chill cos is only pop music. Im lovin this nu experience and is me who has to show what i got. Don’t y’all be mad pleez. thanks to you all and i TRULY respect your passion. Some vino veritas on my part i confess. And now, onwards + upwards. x x x

Hours earlier, Britney tweeted that she was in the studio with Black Eyed Peas‘ member/producer Will.I.Am. Will.I.Am then took to Twitter, saying:

The song I did with britney is ganna be crazy fresh. from the super bowl to the studio workin on a mega smasher. can’t wait till its done

Listen to “Frozen,” then listen to “Check It Out (feat. Nicki Minaj).”

I’m in mourning.

l 850293b7e43143139ace961494745b89 Dangerous Muse Returns with New Song: Fame Kills

And you thought Sophie Ellis-Bextor was bad: After almost seven years, three singles and two EPs, Dangerous Muse still have yet to release their debut album, Take Control.

Despite the fact that they’ve got a full album boasting production by the likes of Swedish pop masters Bloodshy & Avant, Esthero and Josh Harris waiting in the wings, the men of Dangerous Muse have opted to go the slow and steady route, unveiling their music at a rate of approximately one single every two years.

Now, we’ve (finally) got another taste of what lies ahead.

To celebrate their latest single (“I Want It All”) hitting #1 on LOGO TV’s The Click List this week, the sexy electro-pop NYC duo have just released a free download of an upcoming album track: “Fame Kills.”

Produced by the group themselves (along with David Siskovic), “Fame Kills” is a nearly 7-minute electro-pop epic filled with chugging, Depeche Mode-friendly beats and frantic, glittering ’80′s synthesized sounds. “Fame will tear us apart / I press my lips against my arm,” singer Mike Furey croons through the song’s heavy vocoder.

The occasional silly lyric aside (“Like fish in disguise”?), “Fame Kills” is a storming, brooding little number that ties in well with the luscious noir pop that made us love the group in the first place, including “Give Me Danger” and “The Rejection.”

I dare say it makes me excited to hear the rest of the record–but this rate, it looks like we won’t be hearing it until, well…August 2019. Fingers crossed!

Take Control will (allegedly) be released in 2011. (iTunes)

Okay–new post idea!

This is Muusical Chairs, or essentially the “6 Degrees of Separation/Kevin Bacon” game. The idea is to take one pop star, connect the musical dots to another, and maybe share some previously unknown pop tidbits in the process!

This one’s an easy start, but I’m sure I can dream up more complex connections in the future. Let me know what you think!
