Not too much happening on the Britney front, aside from a (court mandated?) visit to a psychiatrist’s home for an hour yesterday and a quick stop or two at Starbucks. Oh, and the unveiling of a strange new Chinese tinged Latin accent.
Anywho, reports are swirling that the latest Blender Magazine issue’s main feature will be regarding Britney, and that there’s some sort of “bombshell” cover to be released. Blender Magazine tends to deliver accolades to Britney when merited, so I believe this will be a potentially positive release. I just hope the cover photograph comes from a proper photoshoot. And that it involves scantily cladness. Though that wouldn’t be much of a stretch now, would it?
Speaking of photoshoots, two stunning photos from a shoot sometime last year have leaked. And yes, they’re absolutely gorgeous. It’s refreshing to see that she can still clean up a few times a year.

She hasn’t kissed anyone, shown the lady bits off, or said anything particularly controversial in the past twenty four hours…Needless to say, I’m concerned. Therefore, a brief trip down memory lane is in order.
Back in the days of possibility, Britney ran over to KIIS FM in L.A. in 2005 to preview a song from her upcoming album, tentatively titled The Original Doll. The project was later scrapped, though recordings from the sessions remain (some still unheard).
“Mona Lisa” is undoubtedly a departure from her older material, as well as the first time that Britney showed any sort of “rebellion” within her material. It was later rerecorded and rewritten for the Chaotic DVD release, but the second version lacks the rawness of the original demo.
It’s a bit chilling to hear the song now as she sings about Mona Lisa’s downfall (she’s referred to “Mona Lisa” as her alter ego). The lyrics signaled the death of bubblegum Britney, and the start of something new: “She was taken under, drowning in her sea / Running like an angel, she was crying and could not see / See everyone’s watching as she starts to fall / They want her to break down, and be a legend of the fall.” The vocals are surely nothing to write home about, nor is her poetic expertise, but hey, she actually wrote this one. And the lyrics ring frighteningly true lately, now don’t they?

A consistently reliable source from the StarsVIP forum has posted the supposed tracklisting of the two-disc demo that Britney was seen toting around for the past few years. It includes the working titles of all of the tracks we’ve heard on Blackout, plus a few new ones. I’d dismiss this as bull, except not only are all of these tracks confirmed by the producers, but one of them leaked today (“All That She Wants,” see previous post from today if you missed it.)
Money, sex, and souls have been offered to the man claiming to have them. I think I put a few of my appendages and cherished possessions on the offering list at some point as well… Time will tell if he’ll leak it in full. Until then, we still have about 60% of these demos, which were leaked in September/October.

Additionally, she showed up to the courthouse for today’s custody hearing, but not the courtroom. Baby steps! First the building, now inside the courthouse. I’m not going to venture a guess for next month’s custody hearing…she may even make it to the door this time!

A new Britney song has cropped up unexpectedly on YouTube! I have no details regarding it’s release or recording date, but this is 100% Britney. It’s partially a cover of the song “All That She Wants,” though after some digging up in the BMK forums, it appears that the verse lyrics are pulled straight from the poem that she wrote on her official site back in May 2006, “Remembrance of Who I Am.” Read on for the full poem’s contents. The song itself reminds me a lot of Utada Hikaru’s “A.S.A.P,” which can be found in this video here. Ah yes, and as a self-proclaimed Britney expert, I can tell you exclusively that this was most likely one of those off-sessions where Britney thought she was being incredibly edgy and different for recording this one. Not that I don’t still love her, but her “smarter” tracks are always so damn unpolished. “Mona Lisa” (Original Version) is still one of her most underrepresented tracks, though.
Anyway, this is all so very exciting, so have yourselves a listen.

Remembrance of Who I Am
May 22, 2006
No more chains
That you gave me.
Enough of pain
Now I’m craving
Something sweet, so delight
How do you stand sleeping at night?
Silly patterns that we follow
You pull me in
I’m being swallowed.
By the ones you think you love
They pull you down
You can’t see up above.
Manipulation is the key
They screw it in
Because you’re naive.
You come to me now
Why do you bother?
Remember the Bible
The sins of the Father.
What you do
You pass down
No wonder why
I lost my crown.
You don’t see me now
You ask yourself why
My crown is back
And it’s way too high
For you to be in my presence
Especially my son
You should bow down
I’ve only just begun.
The guilt you fed me
Made me weak.
The voodoo you did
I couldn’t speak.
You’re awakening
The phone is ringing.
Resurrection of my soul
The fear I’m bringing.
What will you say
And what will you do?
She’s not the same person that you’re used to.
You trick me one, twice, now it’s three.
Look who’s smiling now
Damn, it’s good to be me!
*This is for everyone who thinks they know me…

Britney has reunited with Adnan. They were seen reuniting at 5:30 today in Malibu, driving away. Later on, Adnan got into a minor accident with a motorcyclist. See the video here. Off to a rousing start, yes?
