Wait: What’s a Kardashian?
In my eyes, there’s only ever been one famous-for-being-famous socialite running this town, and she’s busy working up a sweat in the studio preparing for a grand return to the dance floor.
Yes, that’s right: Paris Hilton, Queen of Dance-Pop (or Queen of DP, for short) is making her way back to our iPods.
As TMZ previously reported last week, the multi-talented hotel heiress/media mogul/definitively still famous person is putting in work on a heavily House-influenced (!) follow-up to her flaw-free 2006 debut Paris, otherwise known as one of the best pop records of the past 5 years. (Yes, I’m being quite serious.)
To do so, she’s been tagging along on stage and in the studio with some of dance’s hottest producers of the moment, including Deadmau5 and “Take Over Control” Dutch hit-maker, Afrojack.
Now, the fruits of her labor have begun to seeping through to public ears.
Afrojack – “Good Time (feat. Paris Hilton) (Live Unfinished Demo)” by armon86
“Are you having a good time? ‘Cause I’m having a good time / And I might be a bit tipsy / But that’s okay ’cause you’re with me,” Hilton slowly purrs above the tranced-out beats of “Good Time,” an unfinished demo that reportedly premiered during Afrojack’s set at the Sun City Music Festival in El Paso last week.
“It’s so new, it’s not even finished yet,” Afrojack proclaims to the crowd at one point during the low quality recording. Hilton and her new DJ buddy engaged in some late night recording sessions overseas a few weeks ago, after which Paris tweeted: “Good times with @DJAfrojack last night. Love Mallorca! So fun!”
Although she’s only singing two actual sentences on this entire recording thus far, it’s never too early to formally declare this production to be ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE already. I’m so excited!
VIVA LA HILTON!

In case you haven’t heard, Kimberly Wyatt‘s transformed from a pussycat into a wolf.
Since the official dissolution of The Pussycat Dolls last year, the leggy blonde bombshell has embarked on a variety of exciting new ventures, including a judging role on the UK’s Got To Dance and a smash hit feature on Aggros Santos infectious springtime single, “Candy.”
But perhaps most exciting of all her current endeavors is Her Majesty & The Wolves, a dance-based musical partnership struck up between Wyatt and former member of electro-pop duo Jupiter Rising, Spencer Nezey. After the release of a buzz single (“Glaciers”), the duo premiered their first official single in November: “Stars In Your Eyes,” a thumping space-pop affair.
A few weeks ago, I got the opportunity to ask Kimberly and Spencer a few questions about their hotly anticipated collaboration, which is set to explode in 2011. If you couldn’t tell from the steadily increasing amount of exclamation marks contained in each of their answers, they’re pretty excited about it. LET’S DO THIS!!!
Time for some fashion.
Canadian producer Deadmau5 (perhaps best known to those who are unaware as the guy with the big mouse head that DJ’ed during the 2010 VMA’s) recently commissioned UK fashion designer/illustrator Hannah Morrison to create a new line of shirts for his online boutique.
The resulting designs (affectionately titled Chainmau5, Cheekymau5 and Spikeymau5) are now available at his official shop. Each design is quite cool, fresh, and fabulous (in that exact order, I believe), and all of them feature Morrison’s signature hand-drawn approach to her designs.
To celebrate this collaboration, MuuMuse is proud to be giving away ONE tee from Deadmau5′s boutique.
To enter to win, send me an e-mail with the subject line “DEADMAU5″ telling me your favorite Deadmau5 track. A winner will then be selected and notified on October 25.
Deadmau5′s latest studio album, For Lack of a Better Name, was released last September. (iTunes)

While the name Luciana Caporoso might not immediately strike a chord, chances are you’ve seen the name attached to some of the hottest dance floor scorchers of the past decade.
Luciana is perhaps best known for being the queen of collaboration, responsible for lending her vocal chops and songwriting skills to a slew of the brattiest and bossiest dance anthems of the past few years, including “Yeah Yeah” and “What Planet You On?” with Bodyrox, to “Bigger Than Big” with Super Mai, to her latest club smash along with Static Revenger and Richard Vission, “I Like That.”
A few weeks ago, I got the chance to ask the singer some questions regarding her break into the music industry, her creative work–including visual art and penning tracks for other artists (most recently Kylie Minogue‘s heaven-sent Aphrodite cut, “Cupid Boy”), and her plans to further dominate the dance floor.
As one can probably tell early on into the interview, the sassy spunk that Luciana brings to her music is hardly restricted to the recording studio. She’s a firecracker! Click “Read More…” to see the full interview.
Oh, and just to make this feature even more delicious, I just happened upon this sweet lil’ video shout out above from the singer waiting for me in my inbox. As she would likely declare, it’s utterly fabulous. Thanks for the love, Luciana!
MuuMuse is giving away ONE FOR LACK OF A BETTER NAME CD AND POSTER! To enter, send a blank e-mail to deadmau5@muumuse.com. One winner will be selected at random in one week (10/22) and notified immediately. Don’t wait–enter now! USA residents only please.
For Lack of a Better Name is Deadmau5‘s second studio album, a follow-up to his 2008 award-winning success, Random Album Title.
While Mr. Mouse, a Canadian house DJ, might be best known ’round these parts as one half of the collaboration behind Kaskade‘s genius “Move For Me,” he’s also an accomplished solo artist in his own right, spawning several Juno and Beatport Award wins, as well as a Grammy nomination for his remix of Morgan Page‘s “The Longest Road” in 2009.
“Ghosts ‘N Stuff,” the first single (and very first video for Deadmau5!), provides all the right “Stuff” to get into the Halloween swing of things: Mix some Hi-NRG organ synths, a pumping bass and a ~spooky~ vocal delivery thanks to Rob Swire, and you’ve got yourself a hit–not to mention the makings of a ridiculous music video.
Ever want to know what a night out on the town in the afterlife looks like? Check it out above–I think you’ll find a deeper appreciation ifor what a day in the life of Lindsay Lohan would be like after viewing.
The album is streaming in full at Deadmau5′s MySpace.

Good news, electronica fans! On September 22, Deadmau5 will be releasing his sixth album, For Lack Of A Better Name on Ultra Records.
If the name doesn’t strike you, perhaps the work will: Deadmau5 is most known ’round these parts for his collabo work on Kaskade‘s Strobelite Seduction, including MuuMuse favorites “I Remember” and “Move For Me.”
To this day, my first post about the latter track remains one of the most viewed pages on MuuMuse. Isn’t that crazy?
Then again, “Move For Me” is a brilliant, brilliant song.
