On Saturday night, Lady Gaga sat spread eagle atop a delivery table on the stage of Saturday Night Live, belting out “Born This Way” while grasping her very pregnant prosthetic belly before flooding the delivery table with goo and glitter.
“My water just broke,” the 25-year-old superstar tweeted late on Sunday night. And today, on May 23, Born This Way, Gaga’s second studio album, was born to the world.

Last night marked Lady Gaga‘s final sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden on The Monster Ball Tour 2011.
The show, the second of two nights taped for Gaga’s upcoming HBO special in May, was a nearly two and a half-hour extravaganza, as Lady Gaga and her friends traversed the gritty, ghoulish streets of an imagined New York City in an attempt to get to the greatest party in the world: The Monster Ball–all while battling car breakdowns in Brooklyn, bad reception and giant tentacle monster attacks (totes hate when that happens) along the way.

It’s that magical time of self-celebratory circle jerking again: The 2011 Grammy Awards!
And for the first time in, like, forever…it was mostly a good time! There were a lot of performances, and at least half of them were pretty entertaining.
Let’s take a walk through some of the more memorable moments of the night, shall we?
Elton John called it “the anthem that’s going to obliterate ‘I Will Survive.’” In two days, we’ll hear it for ourselves.
It’s official: Lady Gaga‘s “Born This Way” will premiere on radio worldwide at 6:00 a.m. EST and will be made available for sale digitally at 9:00 a.m. EST.
Can you even handle the wait? Or better yet, the sheer hype?!
Little monsters…get your paws up!
Wow–this came out of nowhere!
Behold: The video for Ellie Goulding‘s brand new Biff Stannard-produced single “Lights,” the title track (and one of my favorite songs) off of Bright Lights, the re-release of the singer’s brilliant 2010 debut.
As you can see, the confidence just keeps coming for the quirky UK songstress, who’s truly becoming more and more of a Proper Pop Star with each passing day.
Watch as Goulding tosses her hair, twirls her tambourine and bangs the drums while basking in…well, lights! Lights, lights and more lights everywhere, along with some very cool 360-degree camera work. Work them hips, girl!
Apart from the heartwarming clip for Goulding’s smash hit Christmas cover of Elton John‘s “Your Song,” this is probably the most gorgeous Goulding’s ever looked. Plus, there’s totally some shades of Kylie Minogue‘s “I Believe In You” happening here. Amazing!
A worthy video for a most deserving song. Here’s to hoping the track takes off worldwide!
“Lights” is the next single from Bright Lights. Goulding’s debut abum will be released stateside in early 2011. (iTunes) (iTunes UK)

THIS IS IT, as one of the X Factor judges famously sang 17 years ago (oh my God, 17 years?!): The STAR-STUDDED X Factor final show is finally upon us!
And thank God, because I’m totally over it.
I’m dying.
Ellie Goulding just delivered a S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G orchestral rendition of Rihanna‘s mega-smash “Only Girl (In The World)” during this morning’s Live Lounge on Radio 1. (LISTEN)
It is so many things, but above all, it is brilliant.
Why? Because Ellie’s signature warbling vocal style flips the song completely on its head, turning Rihanna’s confident battle cry into a pleading, nearly sorrowful affair. Incredible!
But perhaps the greatest part of this whole Live Lounge situation? This behind-the-scenes photo:
Notice the first line of the verse there? Yep: “PIE” is crossed out and replaced with the word “RIDE.”
VIVA LA HOT PIE.
On Friday, Ellie Goulding released “Your Song,” the first single off of her sublime debut, Lights. (LISTEN)
The song is an acoustic cover of Elton John‘s 1970 classic. No synthesizers, no vocal layering–just straight-up crooning on top of a piano and some sad strings. And while that description isn’t one normally associated with Goulding’s musical output, trust me–it’s an utterly lovely take on the original.
So devastatingly sweet. I love it to pieces! (Plus it makes me think of Moulin Rouge, which only further adds to its brilliance).
Additionally, Goulding’s already gone and uploaded the accompanying music video onto her YouTube, which you’ll need to experience. There’s no plot or anything–just Ellie and some friends gallivanting ’round the forest looking all whimsical and winter-y. It’s equally precious. (WATCH)
The single is the first to be launched from Bright Lights, Goulding’s upcoming re-release of her sublime debut Lights, which will be released on November 29 in the UK. The newly repackaged collection (which features a gorgeous new cover) will feature 7 new songs including “Your Song”–all of which you can find out about right here.
“Your Song” was released on November 12. (iTunes UK)
