Clinton Sparks, JoJo & and DJ Eye.
Merry Friday, Muusers!
Radio DJ/producer Clinton Sparks has teamed up with drunk-pop purveyors LMFAO and the baddest chick in the game (JoJo) for an almighty new club anthem: “Sucks To Be You.”
While the bass-blasting beat isn’t all that different from your standard fist-pumping club affair a la Taio Cruz, Usher or Enrique Iglesias, “Sucks to Be You” benefits from a few extra cutting lyrics–including a wonderfully cathartic chorus (“I bet it sucks to be YOU!”)–that ought to have middle fingers hoisted in the air at every club across the nation this summer.
And while the mere inclusion of JoJo already makes “Sucks To Be You” an instant smash, it’s her gloriously stinging verse that truly takes the song to the next level: “Boy, you’re shit out of luck / You’re gon’ be sleeping alone,” the 20-year-old songstress bitterly croons as the beat drops low. YOU DON’T. FUCK. WITH JOJO.
Don’t like it? Well then…I guess it sucks to be you.
DL: Clinton Sparks – Sucks To Be You (feat. LMFAO & JoJo)
“Sucks To Be You” is featured on Sparks’ latest mixtape (My Awesome Mixtape), which is now available for free at his official website.
Only a few hours after Britney made the announcement on Good Morning America this morning, Enrique Iglesias has just pulled out from their announced co-headling summer tour according to Billboard.
I’m more than slightly concerned to say the absolute least.
HAPPY FEMME FATALE DAY!
Britney took to the stage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Sunday for Good Morning America to perform three cuts from her brand new seventh studio album, Femme Fatale: “Hold It Against Me,” “Big Fat Bass” and “Till The World Ends.”
Aside from the performances, Britney also announced that she’ll be kicking off a US tour in June with Enrique Iglesias–for the first round of tour dates, check Billboard.biz.
Britney will also performing again today at midnight on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
To celebrate the release of Femme Fatale, please enjoy this brand new remix of “Till The World Ends,” free for download courtesy of Doctor Rosen Rosen!
In keeping with the good doctor’s penchant for dance floor haunts, the re-rub finds Britney sounding eerier than ever above echoing synthesizers, disjointed strings and a chorus that takes the song’s drunk chanting and turns it into a choir of hellfire and damnation. It’s a bit more Halloween than it is A Night At The Roxbury–but hey, we love it just the same!
Femme Fatale was released today, March 29. (iTunes)
filed under: Backstreet Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Kesha, Kid Rock, Miley Cyrus, Muuses, New Kids On The Block, Nicki Minaj, P. Diddy, Pink, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Stevie Nicks, Taylor Swift, Usher, Willow Smith
The 2010 American Music Awards aired live tonight. I live-tweeted the event. Well, most of it. (The Walking Dead came on at 10–I do have my priorities, after all.)
So, rather doing a rather drawn-out summary of the affair, I figure I’d just regurgitate what I just said–except with pictures and video links. Lazy, right? Oh, and if you couldn’t tell yet, you should totally be following me on Twitter.
Like Diddy-Dirty Money says…LET’S GO!!111!!! (I luv Jesus.)
And now for something completely frivolous.
Here is the video for Enrique Iglesias‘ new single, “I Like It,” featuring Pitbull and the illustrious cast of Jersey Shore.
I am posting this for two reasons, and two reasons only: (A) Because Enrique is sofa king hot it’s insane, and (B) because I wish Snickers and J-Woww were my best friends. Also, the song is somewhat catchy.
Enrique’s new album, Euphoria, will be released on July 6.
Here we have the ‘Babes performing their upcoming RedOne-produced second single, “About A Girl” at Saturday’s Ashfield Show gig. As you can plainly hear, it is quite modern, like something you’d hear on American radio. Or a Lady Gaga album. Or a Sean Kingston album. Or a track between Ciara and Enrique Iglesias.
What do we think, gang? Is it a party and a half? I’m still mulling it over.
Here we have “Takin’ Back My Love,” a track from Enrique Iglesias, featuring the increasingly below-the-radar talent Ciara. (She has gone a bit downward in popularity, hasn’t she? Lord knows “Go Girl” isn’t going to be a global smash. “Echo” is another story. However, I’m still in a parentheses, so this train of thought is now to end.)
The song is confirmed to be the second single from Enrique Iglesias’ upcoming greatest hits album, Greatest Hits of Enrique, due out Nov. 11.
Despite the fact that it literally is Lady GaGa‘s “Just Dance,” (just as are most of the songs off of her debut), this song is still quite good.
This RedOne sound…It might be just the antidote needed to counter the Timbaland epidemic. It’s way more hands-in-the-air than Timba, and that’s fine by me. I’ll be damned if that twangy electro noise is featured in every song though.
