Fever Ray, otherwise known as Karin Dreijer of The Knife, accepted the award for Best Dance artist at this year’s P3 Guld Awards in Sweden this weekend (the equivalent of the Grammy’s) in a very Fever Ray sort of way.

Gaga, eat your heart out.

About an hour ago, I got an anonymous e-mail linking to this very strange little video, which was uploaded onto YouTube about three hours ago by a user named “iamamiwhoami.”

Be warned: The graphics are somewhat disturbing without actually being disturbing. There’s some dripping trees, some weird close-ups of a long-lashed lady covered in mud, some general licking of things…I’m not really sure what’s going on.

While this is clearly of the viral campaign persuasion, I just can’t figure out who’s behind it! In fact, I can’t even guarantee that it’s for an artist–it may turn out to be a movie teaser.

Still, the background music is intriguing, and it was sent to MuuMuse after all, which is why I’m hopeful that it’s for an upcoming music campaign. Is it The Knife? Fever Ray? Goldfrapp? Some Tweet friends have suggested perhaps Aphex Twin, Björk, or even Mademoiselle Gaga judging by the close-ups.

I have no idea, but I pray that it’s not something disappointingly boring in the end.

Here comes “If Only Your Bed Could Cry,” yet another brilliant track off of Swedish delight Titiyo‘s album, Hidden, which will be released in Europe later this fall and the US in 2010.

Who knew the trials and tribulations of being a bell boy could have such emotionally draining effects? Then again, if everyone was walking around in Fever Ray-esque masks and making out in my elevator, I wouldn’t be too pleased either.

As with “Awakening” and “Crystal Clear Mud” before, “If Only” is a mercilessly haunting song, as though written with late night reflections and early morning regrets specifically in mind.

Oh, and I knew Moto Boy sounded familiar–I did a post about his work almost two years ago! My, how blog time flies. He’s still great!

Ready for another selection from Titiyo‘s new album?

This is “Crystal Clear Mud,” a MASSIVE new track off of the singer’s upcoming release, Hidden. Much as with “Awakening,” the new track is mysterious, complimented by a slow, mourning chant of “Falling on a bruise, then fade away” similar to the Eurythemics‘ “Here Comes the Rain Again.” Building on top of a ghostly atmosphere, the song splinters into a harder, more industrial punch in the last minute–a gorgeous final touch.

Chances are, if you’re into Fever Ray, Portishead, M83, or any and all Swedish pop like myself, you’re going to taking a liking to this one.

Titiyo’s upcoming album, Hidden, will be released later this week on Friday (October 16) in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Benelux, and on November 9 in the UK.

Fever Ray has announced her third single to be “Triangle Walks” from the gorgeous self-titled debut she released earlier this year.

According to her website, the single will be served up as both a 12″ and a download package, featuring remixes from Tiga, Spektre, James Rutledge, Tora Vinter, Ben Hoo and Allez-Allez.

And of a course, a video will follow by Swedish filmmaker Mikel Cee Karlsson (who was, according to my deep and thorough research, once a professional skateboarder.)

The track is a brooding moment of minimalist orchestration, though it fails to bloom into anything more tangible. “More, give me more,” she moans in synch with her digitally altered lower register (as was done with many of the Silent Shout tracks), which is rather ironic, considering those were my sentiments exactly.

Still, the song’s sounds more like a “teaser” for what’s to come than a proper single. Let us remain cautiously optimistic, yes?
