Where my jazz fans at?
Though I’ve never written about her on the site before, and jazz certainly isn’t the usual genre represented here at MuuMuse, I’ve always known who Hiromi Uehara is.
Perhaps best known for her blindingly fast piano skills and eccentric, experimental jazz/rock/whatever you want to call it style, Hiromi has amassed a wealth of critical acclaim from Japan to America for her impressive musicality.
For a taste of what she’s got to offer, check out any of her live performances…like this one! Or this! It’s really quite something to see.
Her brand new solo piano album, Place To Be, will be released in the US on January 26–some of which you can preview now at her MySpace.
