jamielynn Daily B: Jamie Lynn Performs Song for Britney, I Look Up To You

Remember when Britney‘s baby sister Jamie Lynn started performing surprise showcases around Nashville a few months ago? Well, she did another (non-surprise) show tonight, and this time, she dedicated a song to Britney.

She didn’t specifically say it was for Britney before debuting “I Look Up To You,” but between her brief intro (“You can imagine who I wrote it about”) and the telling lyrics (“It all happened way too soon/They took away your innocence”), it’s clearly written with her big sister in mind. And it’s gorgeous!

I really can’t get over how grown-up she looks! Apart from the undeniable Holy Spearit resemblance (and the accent, y’all!), it’s nice to see Jamie Lynn coming into her own as an artist. She’s got talent! (Who’s surprised?)

And lest we forget, B wrote her own song for Jamie Lynn back in 2006 called “Just Yesterday (Little Me).”

Really, this is all so very sweet! So much love! I’m moved! I–OH GOD. SORRY. I’m just getting a little…

Thanks for the find, BreatheHeavy!

Even though RCA’s Joe Riccitelli confirmed that Britney‘s taking a break in 2012 to spend some time away with her family, that doesn’t mean we won’t be graced with the Holy Spearit–it’s just coming from a different Spears: Jamie Lynn!

Over four years after Brit Brit’s younger sister quietly slipped away in 2008 to give birth to her daughter at age 16, baby Spears is finally stepping back into the spotlight. Although rumors have swirled since early 2009 of an upcoming country music debut for Jamie Lynn, including an interview with country singer-songwriter Pam Tillis from September confirming that the two were writing in the studio together, there hadn’t been any actual signs of new music…up until now.

The first came in early November, when Jamie Lynn hit the stage at The Rutledge in Nashville to perform an intimate showcase of brand new music in front of friends and family. She then resurfaced the following week for a surprise performance at Puckett’s in Tennessee, where she again performed her original songs (watch this clip from the crowd, including the one below.)

Most recently, People Magazine published a behind-the-scenes clip of their upcoming photo shoot with Jamie Lynn in Nashville on December 31, where the soon-to-be songstress discussed her upcoming music and her relationship with her now 3 1/2-year-old daughter. “As long as my world can still revolve around her, then the rest will just fall into place. That’s what I think has been very organic and perfect about my music,” she explains during the shoot.

While it’s been a slow build until now, it seems Jamie Lynn’s debut is officially approaching shortly. Now, I won’t lie–country is far from my favorite musical genre (let’s face it, it’s my very least)–but I’m willing to overlook that fact if the songs are well-crafted and the singing is pleasant. Judging by the clips above, she’s got a good voice–which means the studio output is probably even better. Plus, I’m always here to support anything Team Spears.

So come on and bring on the new tunes, Jamie Lynn!

Jamie-Lynn‘s popped out a baby girl about two hours ago, named Maddie Briann Spears. Britney & Co. are currently at the hospital. Congratulations!

Apparently, Nickelodeon is taking the teen pregnancy special idea seriously. According tf0d7f2bbfe5419fbfd8322286a74a709 Jamie Lynn: The Saga Continueso the Associated Press, Linda Ellerbee (Remember her from Nick News? No, I used to change the channel when it came on too, but I knew her face) thinks it’s important to address the issue.

Many of our feelings may be best expressed from a child’s perspective. Look at what Rosie O’Donnell (and her daughter) had to say from her blog. WARNING: Cryptic Rosie dialogue approaches:

KC writes:
AS a celeb & mom what do U think Nick should do about Zoey 101? UR kids dont watch tv, but will they hear about this?

here is how it went

mama u know the lady with the umbrella
and no hair
here sister is a teenager and she is having twin babies

and what do u think about that chels

teenagers can have babies?

yes they can
and it is never a good idea

well she said
y didnt she take pills that make u not have a baby

hmmmmmmm

And you, what do you think?

Rumors are swirling that Britney’s little sister, Jamie-Lynn, is pregnant at sixteen years old. An OK! magazine cover, posted directly on the OK! website, features Jamie-Lynn on the cover with an exclusive interview proclaiming “I’m Pregnant.” f1294e4144fc9284e803e7c0ab76070e Jamie Lynn: Pregnant?

Looks like things aren’t looking too well for the Spears’ family Christmas now, are they? I hope this is a fake story. OK! has run a consistent streak of false magazine covers. None of them have alleged “interviews” however, so I find this to be a bit extreme. Somehow I’m unable to believe anything regarding Britney’s life considering the outlandishness of the media. In all honesty, I do hope that Jamie-Lynn is okay.

EDIT: Well, it’s official and confirmed by both Nickelodeon and Britney Spears. Despite the sadness of the situation, there are way too many ironies to be ignored: Jamie-Lynn going to see Juno with her parents a few days ago? Meeting the boyfriend in church? Her mother in the midst of writing a book about properly parenting children in Hollywood? It’s like they’ve planned this for years. Good show.
