LISTEN UP 5′S, A 10 IS SINGING.
Last night, Almighty Queen Kelegendary Clarkslay took to the stage of American Idol Season 6,373 to perform her already iconic anthem dedicated to the misfits, outcasts and/or power bottoms of the world, “People Like Us.”
But first: THAT. INTRO. The original Idol audition back in 2002. Brian Dunkleman. “A WAITRESS FROM BURLESON, TEXAS.” The albums. The songs. THE ABUNDANT AWARDS AND RECORDS. Mariah Carey softly petting her heavenly weave sewn in by the hands of angels. Ryan Seacrest quickly thawing from his cryogenic sleep to introduce Queen Clarkson to the stage.
The performance hasn’t even begun yet, and I’m already crying ALL of the tears.

#ItGetsBetter pop has certainly had its moment in the sun: Remember that endless hit parade of self-empowerment anthems from two years ago? Ke$ha‘s “We R Who We R,” Katy Perry‘s “Firework,” P!nk‘s “Fuckin Perfect,” Selena Gomez‘s “Who Says?” and of course, Lady Gaga‘s “Born This Way.” It grew dull rather quickly—but if there’s any artist that I’d still welcome some words of encouragement from, it’s the one and only Idol and “Just Missed The Train” chanteuse, Queen Kelly Clarkson.

This February, Jewel is putting out her first ever greatest hits compilation, called–well, Greatest Hits.
Among the batch of tracks, spanning all the way back to her 1995 debut Pieces of You, are two brand new re-workings of two of her most iconic tracks: One, a duet with the Pistol Annies (“You Were Meant For Me”), and one with the original (and forever and always, the greatest) American Idol: Kelegendary Clarksgod.

This year, Kelly Clarkson celebrated her tenth anniversary in the music industry.
To commemorate this milestone, the singer released Greatest Hits – Chapter One, a compilation of her most commercially successful songs, as well as a handful of new tracks (including the current single, “Catch My Breath”). Yet while this release does a good job of showing off Clarkson’s confectionery pop star persona, it misses part of what has made her such an interesting musician over the years: her multifaceted artistry and genre defying and boundary-less talent.

Feeling particularly…Thankful this week?
You’re probably back at home, preparing to bicker over the last leg of turkey with your great-great aunt’s third cousin, but it’s time to Breakaway from your family and friends for One Minute because I’ve got a treat of the Kellegendary variety. Did that Sober you up? Yeah, thought so.
As we all know, it’s been over 10 whole years since Kelly Clarkson was crowned the winner of the first season of American Idol, all Because Of You. And after providing the theme song for every break-up, every Low point and every good ol’ fashioned Cry session while crumpled up in the corner of your shower for the past decade, Miss Independent is now releasing her first-ever greatest hits collection, Greatest Hits: Chapter One.
Along with 14 of her best smashes–from “Since U Been Gone” to “Stronger,” the compilation also includes three new tracks. So exciting, right?! Sorry, let me Catch My Breath.
And so, to celebrate the release before it turns into My December…
