Cue ponies and unicorns dancing while rainbow waterfalls overflow with hearts, candy and teddy bears.

This video has undoubtedly made my day/night/life.

This is the Kylie Minogue I know and love, and it’s exactly why I’m such a hardcore fan. She’s the bestest!

getoutta A Preview of the Upcoming Video for Kylie Minogues Get Outta My Way

SYSTEM OVERLOAD.

I can’t even believe this, but the video for Kylie Minogue‘s “Get Outta My Way” is nearly upon us! Click above to watch the trailer for the video (which is one fucking hell of a tease, I might add.)

The video was directed  by Alexandliane, the same production duo responsible for Cheryl Cole’s incredible video for “Parachute” and La Roux‘s “I’m Not Your Toy.”

The colors–THE COLORS! SO BRIGHT. SO VIVID.

So far it looks like “Slow” meets “Wow.” AMAZING.

Plus, as my friends over at Hard Candy pointed out, it looks like the America’s Got Talent chair choreography’s going to be a prominent feature in the song’s video!

My body is vibrating.

kylieagt 1024x683 Kylie Minogue Performs Get Outta My Way on Americas Got Talent

I am literally BEAMING right now.

Last night, Kylie Minogue‘s gave her first LIVE performance in America (I know, it’s fucking ridiculous that it’s taken this long) (EDIT: It’s not her first live performance in the US–Kylie’s camp is on crack) during the results show of America’s Got Talent.

I am resisting all urges to shout adjectives at random right now (ICONIC! ELEGANT! ELECTRIC! FIERCE!!!), but a proper analysis escapes me.

Bitch was on point tonight: The energy, the confidence, the hair, the shoes, the mini-dress, the smiles, the sexed-up mop on top. It’s the very definition of DON’T GET ME STARTED. DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED.

I absolutely adore the new chair routine–it’s fun and fresh, and it allows Mizz Minogue to give a little extra strut and sass.

Plus, HELLO! the video montage in the back! It’s basically screaming “Dear America, I’ve been amazing for the past twenty years. Kthxbai.”

This routine is the epitome of Kylie Minogue as a performer, and I absolutely could not be more proud. SHE MAKES ME SO HAPPY.

Now snatch your deserved #1 across the globe, KM!

Many thanks to Muuser Andre C. for the above photo and link.

3 Hurts Covers Kylie Minogues Confide In Me, Continues To Be Perfect

Here we have the marvelously dark and stormy UK electro-duo Hurts performing a cover of perhaps my favorite Kylie Minogue song of all time, “Confide In Me.”

As one might imagine, spooky strings and haunting vocals suit the Hurts style quite nicely.

Absolutely gorgeous.

Hurts’ second single, “Wonderful Life,” was just released on August 22. UK readers can preview and purchase the single here.

Sky+Ferreira+PNG Guest Muuse: Sam Lanskys Fame Fatale: The Rise of Sky Ferreira

So, this is something new and interesting.

The night before my interview with Sky Ferreira, I received a vaguely mysterious e-mail from MuuMuse reader Sam Lansky with an attachment entitled “Fame Fatale.” The e-mail suggested that the attached may assist me in preparing for my interview.

As soon as I began reading, I already knew: This had to be published immediately.

“Fame Fatale” is not only a remarkably in-depth analysis (and personal account) of Ferreira’s curious rise to fame, but a thoughtful contemplation of the manufacturing of the modern pop star and the very conventions of the music industry itself. It’s extremely well-researched, poses tough questions, and deserves your full attention.

With his permission, I’ve asked Sam to feature his article on MuuMuse. It’s an incredible piece, and I do highly recommend that all of my Muusers give it a thorough reading–even if it’s “tl;dr” territory.

I do, after all, hope to keep a literate company.

Songs About Shoes: A Taste of The Sirens Upcoming Single, Stilettos

Meet (the) Sirens, a girl group from Newcastle, England. You’ve probably never heard of them, but maybe you have.

The sirens of Sirens have actually been around ever since 2003, although their music has never really struck a chord with the general public. In fact, their greatest chart success was a single called “Baby (Off the Wall)” that peaked at #49 on the UK Charts, though the group did go ‘big in Japan.’ (For the record, so did Jennifer Love Hewitt. Make of that what you will.)

Don’t remember the song? Me either. Let’s review together, shall we?

As you can see, there was room for improvement.

Turn to 2010: The girls are back (can a girl group truly be ‘back’ if they were never here to begin with? I digress), and vastly better than ever thanks to a brand new single coming out later this year called “Stilettos.” You can now treat yourself to thirty seconds of the song below:

INCREDIBLE.

“Stilettos” was produced by Danish production team Deekay, responsible for tracks by JLS, the Sugababes, and most importantly, Paula Abdul‘s global smash, “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.”

Yes, it’s a bit of obvious ‘modern sounding’ dance pop. And yes, the image and sound are all very heavily “inspired” by Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue. But who’s going to turn down an electro-stomper about a pair of pumps? I mean, come on.

Note: The full track is ALL shades of amazing. There’s lots of talk about inches and stomping and clicking. All good things.

Girls, welcome back. Or…well, welcome here in the first place.

“Stilletos” will be released on October 4 via Kitchenware Records.
