While the name Luciana Caporoso might not immediately strike a chord, chances are you’ve seen the name attached to some of the hottest dance floor scorchers of the past decade.
Luciana is perhaps best known for being the queen of collaboration, responsible for lending her vocal chops and songwriting skills to a slew of the brattiest and bossiest dance anthems of the past few years, including “Yeah Yeah” and “What Planet You On?” with Bodyrox, to “Bigger Than Big” with Super Mai, to her latest club smash along with Static Revenger and Richard Vission, “I Like That.”
A few weeks ago, I got the chance to ask the singer some questions regarding her break into the music industry, her creative work–including visual art and penning tracks for other artists (most recently Kylie Minogue‘s heaven-sent Aphrodite cut, “Cupid Boy”), and her plans to further dominate the dance floor.
As one can probably tell early on into the interview, the sassy spunk that Luciana brings to her music is hardly restricted to the recording studio. She’s a firecracker! Click “Read More…” to see the full interview.
Oh, and just to make this feature even more delicious, I just happened upon this sweet lil’ video shout out above from the singer waiting for me in my inbox. As she would likely declare, it’s utterly fabulous. Thanks for the love, Luciana!
“Get Outta My Way” is the incredible second single off of Kylie Minogue‘s summer smash, Aphrodite. It is also one of the best singles of 2010. So what better way to celebrate this massive song than a contest?
Last week saw the release of “Get Outta My Way” in the UK in three different formats–7″ vinyl, CD single, and Enhanced CD, as well as a buttload of remixes available digitally.
Now, it’s your chance to snag a copy (if you didn’t already pre-order it like I did!)
To enter to win one of FIVE 7″ vinyl and CD single sets, send an e-mail to me with the subject line “GOMW” telling me your favorite song off of Aphrodite.
Five winners will be selected and notified on Monday, October 11.
In the meantime, do yourselves a favor and head over to iTunes (yes, available in the US as well!) and check out the three massive “Get Outta My Way” remix EPs. From Stuart Price Extended mix to Steve Anderson‘s long-awaited Pacha mix–it’s a reg’lar KYLIEPALOOZA up in this bitch.
The divine Mizz Kylie Minogue graced the airwaves of Radio 1 earlier today to partake in the time-honored tradition of performing an acoustic set for Live Lounge.
Along with singing “Get Outta My Way”, “All The Lovers”, and “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”, the disco diva also took a stab at “Wonderful Life,” the latest single by moody pants electro-duo, Hurts.
The two acts have a nice little back-and-forth going on, first with Kylie appearing on their album track “Devotion,” and then Hurts covering Kylie’s masterpiece, “Confide In Me.” GOD, JUST SLEEP TOGETHER ALREADY.
While performance is top notch (and accompanied by a truly lush string arrangement–I see you Steve Anderson!), it’s the dreamy, samba-influenced version of “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” that’s left me especially stunned. Heaven!
Thanks to Muuser Andre C. for the heads-up–and the photo!
On Friday night, Kylie Minogue performed “Get Outta My Way” on The Paul O’Grady Show.
Much as with any of her other performances during the Aphrodite era, Kylie has reduced me to little more than a puddle of hearts and glitter while watching. Literally. I’m incapable of withholding a grin when I’m watching her perform…it’s cute overload!
As with the latest string of “Get Outta My Way” performances, Mizz Minogue kept it classy with her chair routine and a boatload of vogue-rrific hand moves and poses. It seems she’s switched up some of the moves ever so slightly again, which is nice because each performance of the song thus far has had its own special little moments.
You’ll also need to watch this brief clip of Kylie being interviewed by O’Grady–and being introduced to an aged version of herself, played by none other than her twinkle-toed bestie, Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears. It’s a must see!
Please, remember everyone–”Get Outta My Way” is being released TOMORROW in the UK. Let’s do one of the greatest singles of 2010 proper justice and give it its rightful #1 debut, okay?

And now for some modern sounding electro-pop.
Chris Sorbello is an up-and-coming Aussie pop chanteuse, signed under Ministry of Sound.
As a song/act, there’s nothing in Sorbello’s shtick we haven’t already seen or heard from the best of the best (Britney, Kylie, Gaga etc.), but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have anything good to offer.
Also, her last name sounds like a type of mushroom, and I find that sort of thing silly.
Her debut single, the Minogue-esque “So Lonely,” was released on April 9 of this year and charted at #39 on the ARIA Singles Chart (#5 on the Australia only singles chart). It’s pretty decent.
Now she’s back. Or rather, she’s still here, but with her next single in tow: “Dangerzone.”
Overall, “Dangerzone” is a solid pop stormer. It’s not anything on the level of, say, Rachel Stevens‘ Come And Get It (I’d be more apt to draw similarities to Holly Valance), but it’s a fun little ride nonetheless.
Plus, that “We were talkin’, just talkin’” bit really works for me.

Working with Kylie is like working with every artist I have ever wanted to and continues to be as exciting and fresh every time we do something new.
As promised, here comes part two of my interview with the sensational producer, remixer, songwriter and musical director (amongst other titles!), Mr. Steve Anderson.
Go ahead and read on to learn about Anderson’s unreleased electro-ballad with Britney (“Grow”) and much, much more Kylie gossip (Unreleased tracks! Scrapped setlist ideas!), as well as Anderson’s thoughts on remixing, the music industry today (including a killer list of artists to watch), and his latest project: Launching his latest chanteuse Elouise into the seemingly impenetrable territory that is North America.

Just stop. Stop and watch this brilliant, beautiful video.
This is the video for Kylie Minogue‘s upcoming single, “Get Outta My Way,” due to be released on September 27.
This is the kind of video that I need with me at all times. The kind that I want to pull out of my pocket during an uncomfortable train commute after an awful day of work to remind me that there is still some good in the world. Yes, friends–this is the stuff that iPod Touch dreams are made of.
Visually speaking, “Get Outta My Way” isn’t something we haven’t already seen from Kylie, albeit a sampling of her best moments: From the masterful floor choreography of “Slow,” to the lights and glam of “Wow,” to the damn near identical writhing and posing found with “In Your Eyes,” the formula isn’t exactly new.
Yet this video is as arresting as any of her others, if not much more so. Words fail to describe the beauty and elegance of it all–the fact that Minogue manages to so perfectly and effortlessly flaunt her beauty in the most effortless of ways. There’s drama, but no pretense. The result is sophisticated camp, like a high fashion photographer’s first foray into pop.
I mean, the clothing! That magnificent chained corset? Those spiked shoes? THAT GOLDEN CLAW THING ON HER HAND?! I die, Rachel Zoe style.
What beats this? Honestly? Does anything, really? I don’t think so. This is one of the finest videos Kylie Minogue has ever created, and certainly one of the best of the year.
Simply put, this is divinity captured in video.
Kudos to you, Alexandliane–you’ve done it again.
Thanks to SuperMuuser Stephen Ferosh for the link.

When she is in the moment, literally it’s like magic flying about all over the place and on stage. It simply doesn’t get any better.
Steve Anderson is a pop nerd’s goldmine.
Known today as a songwriter, a producer, and a musical director (amongst other job titles), Anderson’s career actually took off in the late ’80′s as a remixer, acting as one-half of the popular remix outfit, Brothers in Rhythm along with Dave Seaman.
Working out mixes for some of the most popular artists of the time including Cherrelle, Sister Sledge, and Loleatta Holloway, Steve Anderson quickly began carving himself a comfy niche in the pop industry. Yet one of the most important milestones in Anderson’s career came with eventual introduction in the early ’90′s with a certain Kylie Minogue.
Beginning with Minogue’s self-titled 1994 record and continuing all the way to Aphrodite, Steve Anderson has worked intimately co-writing and recording the internationally cherished diva for nearly twenty years. He’s been responsible for the arrangement and production of many of her hits (“Confide In Me,” “Did It Again”), as well as continuing to serve as the musical director of every tour she’s done since 1997′s Intimate and Live.
As time went on, Anderson soon began taking a hand at penning tracks for a variety of MuuMuse’s most celebrated acts: From Atomic Kitten to Holly Valance, to the legendary Miss Britney Spears.
Since then, the talented producer has only continued to busy himself with work. Anderson is currently in the midst of planning Minogue’s massive Aphrodite Tour as well as executive producing Christophe Willem‘s upcoming studio album. At the same time, he’s been eagerly involved in the launch of two up-and-coming acts: Elouise, a classic crooner who brings to mind yesterday’s greatest voices (Judy Garland, Dusty Springfield), and The Ultra Girls, a new girl group rooted in Spice Girls-esque pop for the sake of pop.
Needless to say, Steve Anderson is a busy man.
As a result, I was delighted when I found out that Mr. Anderson was willing to answer a heap of questions I’d prepared for him, along with several questions submitted by Muusers. A dream!
So without further ado, please read on to see the first part of the interview.
