Lady Gaga

Welcome back to the real world, bloggers and blogettes. I hope your weekend was full of delicious new music and exciting, unparalleled adventure…I know mine was! If you’re anything like me, last night you tuned into the rerun of Camp Rock on the Disney Channel featuring the Brothers of Jonas, only to find the hot one, Joe, prancing along merrily with some big-banged bimbo. It was a shit show to the very end. The screams of forty million girls could be heard at the same time the moment Joe Blow & Bimbo stared Disney-longingly into each other’s eyes at the finale, quickly becoming one of the cruelest endings aired on television since The Sopranos sign-off.

Okay, so maybe you didn’t watch. In that case, you were probably tuned into Miss Universe 2008, with a special performance by the latest electro-pop sensation, Lady GaGa, only to find her prancing along merrily with some big-boobed bimbos. Though the song is broken off into halves so that the raging beauties can strut their stuff down the runway (note the jiggling for some, not for others), GaGa does a decent job at keeping it together for a high profile event. Lady GaGa
‘s continuing to prove herself to be as well-spoken and driven as I could have ever hoped. After a successful television debut performance and a smattering of interviews, I’ve invested a lot of hope in the Lady to revive and refresh the larger-than-life musical artist, a breed of entertainers dying out quickly in today’s pop market. I love her direction, her style, and everything in between. I mean, even the two voguing dancers behind her–That’s what I’m talking about! She’s molding her own superstardom…just as intended.

P.S. Isn’t that the girl from America’s Next Top Model interviewing her?

d3465d57d1f050fb495644b43e56b76d GaGas Debut I’ve been waiting for this for weeks! Ever since I heard that my newfound obsession, Lady GaGa was closing the NewNowNext Awards, I knew that I’d have to feature the performance.

After a brief introduction from the ever awkward, yet somehow entracing Michelle Williams (of the Destiny’s Child variety), a chain-and-leather bound GaGa took to the stage. Now, there were plenty of minor details that I wish had worked differently: a larger stage, louder music, and a rowdier crowd, but GaGa truly shined throughout. Dancing herself something fierce, along with fifteen or so handy extras crowding up the already tiny stage, Lady Gaga gave justice to her hands-in-the-air hit, “Just Dance.” The outfit was pure glam, including some majorly futuristic Kylie shades, giant pointy shoulders, and some ocular business with an ice wand. Put it together with a bend-and-stretch intro and an absolutely brilliant outro, and you’ll figure this out rather quickly: GaGa’s got it. I love the fact that she refused to break out of performance face at the show’s close–just frozen in vogue as the glitter descends upon the screaming masses. She’s a show-woman, plain and simple. So sorry about the lack of updates lately. Really I’m not, but it looks better to say that I am. I’ve just returned back from school, and I’ve decided that my room needs renovating. My chi just doesn’t flow like it used to here. My chakras are all unaligned, and I just can’t see out my third eye as well as I used to. Therefore, I’m introducing some negative space into the mix. A new workspace for a new me! And all that.

7c7ac2577432d16336160a97838c48fd MuuBitsSo what’s new in the world of Muuse? Not much, really. It’s actually a time of reflection here…for once I’ve been dwelling on the same albums, producing the same amount of content. It’s a strange feeling for me…content-ness. I’m not a fan. I remain highly amuused by the album releases of Santogold, Martha Wainwright, and Charlotte Sometimes. This has yet to change, and is causing a certain degree of anxiety from within. Sam Sparro‘s? Not so much.

After only three weeks, I’m completely over Madonna‘s Hard Candy, and have deemed it completely forgettable.

Needless to say, I’ll be attending the sugar lady‘s Sticky & Sweet Tour in October.

The new Cyndi Lauper song “Same Ol’ Story,” in its non-live-screaming-fan version, isn’t so bad, but it isn’t actually “good.” It’s just fine. Sadly, the use of the word “fucking” is not in reference to any form of intercourse, thereby hindering any amount of brilliance the song may have redeemed itself with upon first play.

The b-side to Lorraine‘s current single “When I Return To The World,” called “Beyond Sky,” is a little bit self explanatory, as it’s over-the-moon good. It’s a heavenly orchestral composition that lazily floats by with a killer addictive chorus, so don’t miss it. You can hear it now at their MySpace!

After two weeks, Lady GaGa‘s “Just Dance” still pawns. Hard.

So does Lindsay‘s “Bossy.” Forget who’s singing for the moment if it offends your sensibilities.

And that’s that, for now at least. Yes, I know–there’s nothing new here. Deal with it until something new slips through the cracks!

MuuBits–like Cubits, only slightly less relevant to your daily life.

I saw her promotional video hitting my favorite blogs, but I decided to remain silent until her video sprung up. And all at once, I get it.

a78da75761b838cfa912cdc593e84433 Gaga 4 GagaShe really does have it down. The vogueing, the high fashion, the imperfect perfection that is so deliciously now. Lady Gaga is the latest purveyor of all things dance pop and trendy electro trash. She’s a little bit Kylie, a little bit Peaches, and a whole lot of hot mess fun. Check out the brand new video to her single, “Just Dance,” an unapologetically forward ode to…well, dancing. I guess you saw that one coming. I could have said crocheting, you know.

Above is the video. It’s honestly perfect for the song, and I’m quite addicted to it. Hot pants, disco lights, and trashy, sloppy romps through fashion and fun with a new surprise around every frame. I’m not kidding…I’ve already played it three times! I love that mini-breakdown dance at 1:30, personally. This song and video combination is love. Addicted. Can’t wait to hear more from Gaga when the debut album The Fame hits this summer.
