Lana Del Rey: Born To Die (Album Review)

Still hot from the Internet-killing, bandwidth-shattering success of yesterday’s Top 40 Albums of 2010 list (including a most major of giveaways, in which I’m giving away ALL TEN ALBUMS that made the Top 10 of the list–you still have time to enter up until January 2!), I now present MuuMuse’s Top 50 singles of 2010.
There were a lot of good songs released during the year. A lot of them didn’t end up making the list. It’s entirely unjust and profoundly disturbing to think about, but what can you do?
I don’t feel like explaining my choices…SO I WON’T. Why? Because I am such a fucking rebel. GO TIME!
Lolene‘s debut single, “Rich (Fake It ‘Til You Make It)” has truly become my life’s anthem.
No money? No problem! Just fake it ’til you make it, darling.
For one lucky Muuser however, those dreams of free flowing bubbly and Gucci shoes just got a teensy bit more tangible.
MuuMuse is proud to be giving away a $50 American Express gift card, plus ONE copy of Lolene’s debut single, “Rich (Fake It ‘Til You Make It).”
To win, send me an e-mail with the subject line “LOLENE” telling me what you’d do if you struck it rich! Make it real. Make it silly. Make it clever–whatever! Just live it up to the fullest.
A winner will be selected and notified on August 23.
Good luck. Now pop the Ciroc, bitches!

I’m so proud of you, Miss Foo Foo!

I like giving people a chance that are new; that are very talented and cool. I want to find the RedOnes of tomorrow, you know?
After debuting the fabulously over-the-top “Sexy People” back in August of last year, Lolene is finally on her way to the premiere of her long awaited debut, The Electrick Hotel, due out this summer on Capitol Records.
I spoke with Lolene two weeks ago about the album’s concept, her musical endeavors, and her plans for the future. With today’s release of her incredible Electrick Hotel teaser trailer (which brings to mind the excitement I felt the first time I saw Lady Gaga‘s EPK), I thought there was no better time to reveal this interview then right now. To all my Muusers in the Miami area, I’ve got tickets for quite the affair next week!
On Saturday, March 27, gay club Score (Gaga stopped there after her New Years Eve performance his year–it’s been officially christened!) will be hosting a massive event during the Winter Music Conference, including performances by MuuMuse favorites Kelis, Wynter Gordon, Estelle, Lolene, and Agnes.
MuuMuse is proud to be giving away ONE PAIR of tickets to the event! To enter, send an e-mail to muumuse@gmail.com with the subject line “WMC” or send a tweet my way with the following phrase: “I want to go to the WMC, @MuuMuse!”
A winner will be selected and notified on Tuesday, March 23.
For those of you who’d rather stop by, tickets for the event are $15.
Click here to find out more about all the events going on at the Winter Music Conference.
I first introduuced Lolene in August with the arrival of her deliciously trashy track, “Sexy People.”
Now, she’s ready to begin: “Rich (Fake It ‘Til You Make It)” is Lolene’s official debut single, a Gaga-ian inner fame mantra that promotes the notion that belief can make it happen, even if you start out with nothing: “I walk like I’m rich, I talk like I’m rich, I spend like I’m rich, but I ain’t got no money,” she proudly declares in the song’s chorus.
To hear the track in full, click here.
Will those Hollywood dreams come true for the singer? Time will soon tell.
“Rich (Fake It ‘Til You Make It)” will be released on April 19.
