From Moby‘s MySpace:

after a year of recording and writing, today’s the day i go into the
studio to begin the final mixing on my next record.if all goes well i’m
hoping to finish the album by the end of february, and to release it in
june.

if ‘last night’ was a saturday night 1 a.m dance record then this next album is more of a ’9 a.m sunday morning lying in bed while it’s raining outside’ album.

I can’t believe how quick this turnaround is…Last Night came out less than one year ago, and the remix album only months ago!

The album with be mixed along with Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós, M83), and promises to be a more quiet, “melodic and more emotional record than the last few records.”

The artist goes on in his message to urge fans to give the album a proper, thorough listening upon first play, rather than skipping through to a few random tracks.

Shouldn’t pose much of a problem…It is a Moby album, after all.

Who’s up for a bit of grandness? Today we have Sigur Rós with “Ára Bátur,” the seventh track off of their latest album, Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust.

Nine minutes in heaven. Make sure you hold on ’til the very end, because this piece of heaven breaks out into a higher level of majesty that only Sigur Rós could provide.

4013e41ed51795bb9c0ab3246c054720 More Delights Looks like the ball’s rolling with the promotion for Sigur Rós‘ newest album, which translates into English as “with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly.” The album will be ready for pre-order on June 2, streaming by June 9, and in physical form by June 23. The video and MP3 download for the first track of the album, “Gobbledigook,” are located here.

The band has indeed made yet another departure from their last steps, this time incorporating a ceaseless percussion backing and a light-hearted bout of chanting. This is a much warmer variety of sound, much more at peace with itself than the last composition. But be careful now, the video is sort of like the animated version of their album cover. The proximity of all the jiggling genatalia to the brambles and thorns of the forest makes this video especially difficult to watch. On the other hand, it does feature boobies.

3860889e906ca766686e10132a8f6614 Afternoon Delight Egad, man, they’ve escaped! It’s a bunch of prancing nudies on a highway! But more importantly, it’s the cover of a new album release from Sigur Rós, undoubtedly one of my favorite bands of all time. The CD is due out on June 23, and it’s called
Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust
. Got a nice romantic ring to it, eh? The tracklisting is as follows:

1.Gobbledigook
2.Inní mér syngur vitleysingur
3.Góðan daginn
4.Við spilum endalaust
5.Festival
6.Suð í eyrum
7.Ára bátur
8.Illgresi
9.Fljótavík
10.Straumnes
11.All Alright

Hmm…I suppose a tracklisting roll call is less exciting when most of the tracks are in Icelandic. Anywho. Their last album was simply groundbreaking, and I expect nothing less this time around. Now, I wonder what the picture looks like on the inside of the jacket?
