This is one of the most incredible shoots she’s ever done. Or anyone’s ever done. It’s giving me shades of Bert Stern‘s infamous nude shoot with Marilyn Monroe meets Britney‘s Onyx Hotel Tour tourbook and her 2011 V Magazine shoot, which Sky—a notorious B stan—would probably only love to hear. Pure art.

Sky Ferreira is just full of surprises this week.
After brooding it out for a truly stunning photo set for Yves Saint Laurent’s 2013 Pre-Fall look book shot by Hedi Slimane, the endlessly versatile pop chanteuse has just popped up as a featured vocalist on Croatian cello duo 2CELLOS‘ brand new record. Wait, what?
She did it.
Three months after releasing her phenomenal Ghost EP, Sky Ferreira stepped out onto the stage of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to perform her critically acclaimed track (and, for what it’s worth, my personal favorite of 2012): “Everything is Embarrassing.” But this wasn’t just any performance, of course: It was her long, long overdue television debut.
As promised to us on Twitter last week, indie-pop darling Sky Ferreira has just debuted the accompanying video for her fantastically moody Ghost EP electro throbber, “Lost In My Bedroom”–and it’s just what I imagined.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: A time when the promise of next year’s music still shines bright like a diamond, free of the crippling reality of weak lead singles, terrible cover art and devastating chart positions.
(Remember how excited we all were for The Spirit Indestructible this time last year? Eesh.)
