Conf01n Listen to the Original Version of Madonnas Upcoming Song, Turn Up The Radio

Martin Solveig – Turn Up The Radio (feat. Sunday Girl) (Live) by muumuse

Yesterday, Madonnarama broke the exclusive that one of the songs included on Madonna‘s higher-than-highly anticipated twelfth studio album will be called “Turn Up The Radio,” produced by Martin Solveig.

As it turns out, the song’s already been kicking around for months.

Originally sung by UK songstress Sunday Girl, “Turn Up The Radio” was initially meant to be a single from Solveig’s 2011 record, Smash. (Instead, the track was never released and the still-very-good Sunday Girl collaboration “Let’s Not Play Games” was included as the album’s closer.)

Although the song was never actually released, the French DJ still played the track while out on tour. Luckily, someone in the crowd snagged the audio months ago–and now we’ve got our first taste of “Turn Up The Radio.” Guess what? It’s an absolute T-U-N-E!

Similar to Solveig’s major international smash “Hello (feat. Dragonette),” the track provides a powerful blast of pulsating French House energy and one viciously catchy hook of a chorus–almost like a more punchy, cheerleader-friendly take on the tranced-out Confessions track, “Get Together.”

There’s plenty of potential for this one to rocket to the top of the charts worldwide. I can’t wait to hear M’s vocals on this one…absolutely HUGE!

Rumor has it this’ll be the second or third single off of Madge’s upcoming record–please, please, please let it be so!

sunday girl1 Sunday Girl Releases Stunning Cover of The Pixies Where Is My Mind?

Ridiculously underrated UK songstress Sunday Girl (née Jade Williams) has been quietly pumping out some of the most scrumptiously lush electro-pop tunes for the past two years, including “Four Floors,” “Stop Hey,” and most recently, her shimmering cover of Sunscreem‘s “Love U More.”

Most recently, the singer recorded a cover of The Pixies‘ “Where Is My Mind?” which is now being used in a popular advertising campaign for UK vacation company, Thomson.

Much like Ellie Goulding‘s gorgeous cover of Elton John‘s “Your Song” released in time for Christmas last year, “Where Is My Mind?” finds the usually electro-pop minded songstress delivering a wonderfully stripped-back production, crooning sweetly above a soft piano melody and a lush string section. SO beautiful!

“Where Is My Mind?” has gained substantial buzz over the past few weeks because of its inclusion in the Thomson holiday ads–so much so, in fact, that the song’s just been added to iTunes UK by Island Records (plus a music video to boot!)

With any luck, this will be the song to boost Sunday Girl’s profile enough to get that debut album off the ground in 2012. Lord knows, she deserves it. Fingers crossed!

sundaygirl Sunday Girl Whips Hair in Video for Love U More

You know the only thing I love more than a lush electro-pop cover of the 1992 Sunscreem hit “Love U More” as crooned by Sunday Girl?

A lush electro-pop cover of a 1992 Sunscreem hit as crooned by Sunday Girl set to a video of various fashionistas and model types dramatically whipping their hair in stylish and expensive-looking garments on loop, THAT’S WHAT.

Lucky for me, all of my greatest wishes have just come true.

“Love U More” will be released on December 4. (iTunes UK)

LUM1 SundayGirl jcrd 1 MuuMuse Approved: Sunday Girl Love U More

Fact: Sunday Girl can do no wrong.

The English chanteuse, nee Jade Williams, has released three superb singles — the glitchy dream-pop of “Four Floors,” a frosty cover of Laura Branigan’s excellent “Self Control,” and the ebullient Jim Eliot-produced “Stop Hey.” Way back in April, her impossibly gorgeous fourth single “Human Love” was scheduled for release, then inexplicably delayed, and all went quiet in Camp Sunday Girl. (“Human Love” remains the third-most-played song in my iTunes — it may be my favorite song this year.)

Now we find out why: She had something even more single-worthy up her sleeve — namely, a transcendent house translation of Sunscreem’s oft-covered 1992 hit “Love U More.” The original is pretty damn hard to improve upon, but here, Jade’s husky vocals are layered over a glittering dance track that’s as big and euphoric as Rihanna’s “We Found Love” or Marina’s “Radioactive.” A lush middle 8 gives way to a dazzling house crescendo as she sings, “Let the sky fall down/let the leaves turn brown/Still you know you can never make me love you more.”

After so many false starts, Sunday Girl deserves a big pop moment — and if “Love U More” doesn’t do it, nothing will.

top50singles MuuMuse Presents: The Top 50 Singles of 2010

Still hot from the Internet-killing, bandwidth-shattering success of yesterday’s Top 40 Albums of 2010 list (including a most major of giveaways, in which I’m giving away ALL TEN ALBUMS that made the Top 10 of the list–you still have time to enter up until January 2!), I now present MuuMuse’s Top 50 singles of 2010.

There were a lot of good songs released during the year. A lot of them didn’t end up making the list. It’s entirely unjust and profoundly disturbing to think about, but what can you do?

I don’t feel like explaining my choices…SO I WON’T. Why? Because I am such a fucking rebel. GO TIME!

LET’S GO!!!1!!

JADE 3 Sunday Girl Premieres New Single and Video, Stop Hey

Stop…HEY!

It’s the brand new single and video from Sunday Girl: “Stop Hey.”

Following the equally lush clips for “Four Floors” and “Self Control,” watch as the drop dead gorgeous Jade Williams guides us through several high fashion scenes worthy of doubling as sets for a Vogue UK photo editorial.

There are black umbrellas. And black balloons. And a really big dog!

Not only has Sunday Girl delivered us three solid electro-gems thus far (“Four Floors” being one of my top tracks of the year), but she may well be the most beautiful woman in pop today.

This girl’s just ticking all the right boxes with me…keep ‘em coming!

Working with Kylie is like working with every artist I have ever wanted to and continues to be as exciting and fresh every time we do something new.

As promised, here comes part two of my interview with the sensational producer, remixer, songwriter and musical director (amongst other titles!), Mr. Steve Anderson.

Go ahead and read on to learn about Anderson’s unreleased electro-ballad with Britney (“Grow”) and much, much more Kylie gossip (Unreleased tracks! Scrapped setlist ideas!), as well as Anderson’s thoughts on remixing, the music industry today (including a killer list of artists to watch), and his latest project: Launching his latest chanteuse Elouise into the seemingly impenetrable territory that is North America.

Shot 07 038 1024x768 Pet Sounds: Sunday Girl Covers MGMTs Time to Pretend

And now for something completely lovely.

Here we have Sunday Girl (Jade), singing that one MGMT song that everybody knows (“Time To Pretend”) amongst cute, cuddly creatures of every variety. Well, except for those birds. Fuck birds. Am I right?

This sequence was filmed inside the pet shop where Jade used to work, which also serves as the point of origin for her nickname, “Sunday Girl.” From her blog:

“This is a magical place of daydreams and puppy cuddles.”

Mmm, yes. I quite like this girl. A lot.
