Put your hands up for The Ting Tings!
I just stumbled upon the sweet little shout out above in my inbox tonight. Very nice…thank you much, Ting Tings!
The duo’s latest single–the Calvin Harris-produced “Hands”–is currently impacting the charts overseas as the first cut from their forthcoming sophomore effort due out in early 2011.
Click above to watch the song’s newly released ’80′s-inspired clip: Loads of sexy factory workers, suggestive machinery motions, and Little Boots-ian kaleidoscopic camera work. Nice! Oh yeah, and they’re so in the Illuminati. Just look at those triangles!
“Hands” was released on October 11 in the UK. (iTunes UK)

Good news, Muusers…NOW 31 is out!
I know you’re excited. I mean, come on–Soulja Boy AND Nickelback on one album? SHAKING AND CRYING.
To be fair, it does have some MuuMuse favorites in the mix as well, including Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Pink, and my darling Queen B with “If U Seek Amy.” Click “Read More…” to see the full tracklisting.
Anyway, I’ve got two copies of this fun fest, so if you’d like to snag one, send a blank e-mail to now@muumuse.com. Winners will be chosen and contacted on July 22.

One of my favorite bangers last year was Bodyrox‘s “What Planet U On?”, featuring the delightfully sassy Luciana.
Well, she’s back again–and this time, she’s even sassier. With “I Like That,” the singer finds herself in between two of my favorite mashers, Richard Vission and Static Revenger. The concept is a complex one: A laundry list of things she likes, including “Gucci Gucci,” “money money,” and eating New York.
Oh, and the video is pure neon Yelle meets Ting Tings goodness.
I like this.

Well Muusers, it’s happened once more: My inbox is now bursting at the e-seams, and I just can’t seem to keep up anymore. As a result, I’ve decided I’m going to cement this type of circumstance into a fun, recurring event: The MuuCycle!
Whenever I get a boatload of tracks ready to review, I’ll herd ‘em together in one big package for all to enjoy. We’ve got a lot of mixes and mashes, as well as some originals…So take your pick! My preferences have been elected through a complex star ranking system. I’ll allow my dear readers to decode my method for themselves.
Oh, and do make sure to check out Sicknote–They make Electric Six sound dignified.

As always, take what you like and leave what you don’t. If an artist particularly tickles your fancy, drop me a comment and I’ll be sure to cover them more in depth!
As for my own opinion, I have a strong feeling that Alex Roots‘ debut may prove to be something to watch for in the very near future.

How now…Here we have the Ting Tings in rare form for their next single, “Be The One.” Namely, a nonirritating form.
“Be The One” is a quick and lovely moment, unlike the last two noisy clangers of much sonic boom and little substance. The accompanying video is quite nice as well, though I have to wonder how the direction of this video transpired: “Okay Katie, you’re doing great! Now…sexy eyes! Yes! Now I want you to look up suggestively, perhaps batting your lash–YES! Now…squinty, sexy eye strains! Yes,yes–YES!!!”
I think that’s how it went.
Oh, and somewhere about two minutes in I started fading out and postulating mental questions regarding the brilliance of the soon-to-be-premiered Girls Aloud single. It will, no doubt, be epic.

Well, they did it CSS, and now they’re coming back with some Ting Tings. The latest iPod commercial features The Ting Tings’ “Shut Up And Let Me Go,” off of their debut album We Started Nothing, due for release on May 19. I’m terribly excited for the album, mainly because of “That’s Not My Name.” Only time will tell if the Apple commercial will propel the group to Feisty heights.
Another find for the masses! It’s The Ting Tings, a proper indie electro-pop duo from the UK. The band, composed of Jules De Martino and Katie White, has been toting around the same single, “That’s Not My Name”, for a while now, though only now are they finally starting to get some deserved response. The sing
le will now be released on May 12th. An accompanying video premiered on the band’s Bebo site a little while ago, so I thought I’d introduce the song. It’s a little bit garage band, some trace amounts of Beach Boys-esque influence, and a whole lot of fun. I’m also getting a Rogue Traders vibe, which means a lot of faux-rock style and glammish rebellion. Right now, you can go here to pre-order the single and snag a signed poster. Or you can listen to the song in shit quality I posted below. The choice is yours!
And for anyone interested in their other single, “Great DJ”, you can find the original video here. Sorry, it’s un-embeddable because it’s official, and therefore cooler than this site.
