STOP WHATEVER YOU’RE DOING AND PAY SOME GOD DAMN RESPECT TO R&B ROYALTY: Toni Braxton is still incredible, and so is “Un-Break My Heart.”
Click above to watch the singer absolutely dominate her most cherished single on The Today Show; a song that also happens to be one of my favorites of all time. You know, the one I used to lip-synch/interpretive dance along with when I was eight years old.
Still trying to piece together how Mommy and Daddy figured it out so early…
This is the official video for Toni Braxton‘s new single, “Make My Heart.”
Let’s keep it real here: We’re obviously not dealing with a Top 100 hit, but why can’t a girl have some fun with her friends? Basically, it’s a semi-low budget clip of Toni Braxton dancing with her best gays and girls.
Now, some people may believe the video is all about this moment:
But it is actually all about this moment:
And that is all you need to know.
Pulse will be released worldwide on May 4.
The Prophet Blog is quite right in their assessment:
R&B veteran Toni Braxton has gotten a little Mariah style retouching done for the glamorous artwork to her new album Pulse.
I love it. Now let’s hope it’s as much of a comeback as The Emancipation proved to be for Mimi.
It’s been nearly fourteen years since she released “Un-Break My Heart,” and Toni Braxton is still searching for someone to mend her damaged organ. (No, but really, she’s a heart disease survivor. How’s that for irony?)
Above, check out Braxton’s performance of her new single, “Make My Heart” on The Wendy Williams Show. It’s not nearly in the same league as her older work, but hey…I’m just plain rooting for her.
Very high energy, very solid. Is she lip-syncing? This appears to be the case, but I don’t care. She looks great, and she’s working the stage something fierce.
Pulse will be released on May 4, though you can preview and purchase two tracks–”Make My Heart” and “Hands Tied”–off of Braxton’s official website now.
