You already know coco morier, but perhaps by a different name: She’s Nicole Morier, the talented Electrocute singer-songwriter who co-penned Britney‘s “How I Roll” and “Trip To My Heart,” Sky Ferreira‘s “99 Tears” and Selena Gomez‘s “Whiplash,” amongst dozens of other pop gems. Lately, she’s been doing her own thing.

After launching collaborative record label INGRID back in April along with Miike Snow, Peter, Bjorn & John, Lykke Li and several other Swedish talents, morier has just premiered the video for her completely genius single “Ambulance,” which was co-scribed by Sky Ferreira and Miike Snow.

The clip follows a sullen girl as she wanders through a state of dreaming, popping pills, gorging on food late at night (too real) and experiencing weird, glittery hallucinations. It’s like a cross between The Virgin Suicides, Valley of the Dolls, Girl Interrupted and a Surrealist film festival, resulting in something as otherworldly and morbid as the song itself (if that doesn’t sound like a compliment, it is.) Also, I have a feeling Marina And The Diamonds would totally dig this.

Dig it too? Good. It’s just a taste of what’s to come from morier’s debut Strangers May Kiss, due out June 19 on INGRID.

Swedish indie-dance-pop-call-it-what-you-want duo Icona Pop, who first made waves with their delicious Kitsune-approved “Manners” back in 2011, are back with a seriously killer bang: “I Love It.”

Propelled by a sledgehammering synth stomp crafted by fellow Swedes Patrik Berger (Robyn‘s “Dancing On My Own”) and Style of Eye, the girls unleash their inner pop-punk princess, akin to Dragonette‘s Martina, or even some of that feisty Girls Aloud/Dolly Rockers UK girl group energy. “I got this feeling on a summer day when you were gone/I crashed my car into the bridge/I watched, I let it burn!” they declare. It’s like one big, defiant response to Martin Solveig‘s “Hello.”

I especially live for the song’s sassy sing-spoken bridge: “You’re from the ’70′s, but I’m a ’90′s bitch!” Oh, YES!

Icona Pop’s latest provides such a perfectly ferocious burst of energy, you’ll be balling up your man’s shit in a bag, throwing it down the stairwell and crashing your car into a bridge in no time. (Actually, maybe don’t do that.)

Can you say “Summer anthem” in Swedish? Actually I can, thanks to Google Translate an actual Swedish person…

Queen Tinashe–the rising R&B-pop songstress whom I’ve been bu-buzzin’ about ever since the releaze of her buzz track “Chainsaw” last April, through to “Artificial People,” her collaboration with OFM and onto her redonkulously amazing In Case We Die mixtape released back in February (for free!), has just unveiled a brand new video.

“This Feeling,” one of the most smoldering grooves from Tinashe’s mixtape, sees my girl turning out some slick, stylish choreography in front of a wall of burning bulbs in the background. Like…she’s working it OUT. Those curves are telling no lies, and those dance moves are–as we in the industry like to say–”hot fiyah.” I NEED A FAN.

Lest we forget, the girl’s not even releasing under a label (yet). I mean…!

Seriously, though: the voice, the body, the moves, the look–HELLO. This girl is a STAR! Hop aboard the Tinashe train now.

Three months since the release of her debut record Born To Die, the ever-so-lovely Miss Lana Del Rey has just released a video (or rather, a “bio-pic”) for album track, “Carmen.”

True to the original clips for “Video Games” and “Blue Jeans” released last summer, the “Carmen” clip cut ‘n’ splces scenes from old Hollywood movies, odd shots from around New York City and tiny glimpses of Lana herself out and about on the streets of Brooklyn, striking a pose and playfully canoodling with her beau.

“So, talk to me about why I’m your dream girl,” she questions him at one point. “It’s going to be a short conversation…” he quips, to which she explodes with outraged laughter: “That’s so mean!”

Like the rest of her videos, there’s something both intimate and hauntingly otherworldly about the production–the signature Lana touch.

And the song playing at the end? That’s French pianist Erik Satie‘s gorgeous “Gymnopédie No.1.” That’s right–a bit of culture for you no-good hooligans.

Nice to see you sticking to tradition, Lana. Now can you queue up a few clips for “Summertime Sadness,” “Dark Paradise” and “National Anthem” as well?

The Scissor Sisters have unveiled the video for “Only The Horses,” the Calvin Harris-produced lead single from their upcoming album, Magic Hour. Taking a cue from Godney‘s “Neighdar,” the gorgeous new video features a few fine stallions (oh, and also some horses too.)

If you were starting to grow concerned after watching for over a minute that there’s only the horses in “Only The Horses,” you’d be wrong: The boys (and mega-fierce girl!) come into play–or should I say paint–about midway through the clip.

Sure, the video for “Only The Horses” is no dance-a-thon, but it’s visually scrumptious, artsy and well-executed. Plus, who doesn’t want to see Jake Shears and Del Marquis covered in goo? I’ve gone too far.

Behold: The video premiere of Rita Ora‘s debut US single, “How We Do (Party)”!

It’s fitting, then, that the video for “How We Do (Party)” is one big party (and bullshit): Dancing! Laughing! Shenanigans! Quickly however, the song and video all congeal into one messy mega-mix of Katy Perry‘s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”, Jessie J‘s “Domino” (the song, anyway), a dip into Ke$ha‘s vomit-filled closet and basically everything about Rihanna, ever. It’s all a bit, well…

It’s not as though the comparisons are unfounded, either: After all, Ora herself told The Guardian that while there won’t be a “next Rihanna,” Jay-Z hopes to repeat her success. Oh! Well, alright then.

As for her UK single “R.I.P (feat. Tinie Tempah)”? Now that’s a song that’s got my full attention…even if that’s mostly because it’s Rated R RiRi-rific.

Look: She’s got an amazing voice and definite star wattage, but the comparisons (and/or blatant acts of swagga jacking) are kind of overwhelming. I mean…HELLO! This is Rihanna!

Here’s hoping she becomes more of her own beast in due time.

Mizz Nicki Minaj has just unveiled the explicit clip for “Beez In The Trap,” a song about, um, being in the trap, from her not at all insane o’clock sophomore record, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

The Benny Boom-directed clip for Nicki’s latest…single (Is it even a single? Who knows–everything’s a single with this era!) sees the multi-talented singer/rapper/dick-in-your-facer dancing dirty, serving body and stacking bills up in the club with sexy ladies in a very throwback ’90′s rap video sort of way.

The fashions, however, are thoroughly 22nd century Minaj: a chlorine green wig, bright blue eyeshadow–you know, the works. Plus, there’s a rather severe gyration in a leopard onesie. I’d call her brave, but the bitch clearly stole my Saturday night look.

Oh, and there’s also an appearance by newcomer 2 Chainz, whose verse includes some rather fantastic rhymes about potential career opportunities and spending dollars on fancy items, including my all-time favorite reference ever: “True Religion trousers.” I am very impressed!

So like, “Beez In The Trap” bumps hard and the video makes me want to pound the alarm and all, but where’s the clip for “HOV Lane”? Or “Whip It”? Or…the current single, “Starships”? I know it’s hard to get a starship out on loan, but still…

On a related note, I got to watch Nicki perform and then awkwardly stand next to her at the R Lounge (the ass is fantastic close up I assure you) at yesterday’s Nokia’s Lumia 900 event in Times Square. It was, as we say in the industry, “a hoot.”

The video for Jennifer Lopez‘s soon-to-be smash on the radio “Dance Again” features just about everything that the song promises: Dancing, love (and/or love-making–or at the very least, copious amounts of foreplay), and then dancing again.

Clearly, Jennifer forgot to ask for flaws in her rider for the video shoot, because there simply are none to be found on her body–from the curvaceous lumps to the fan-blow friendly post-sex hair. And of course, Mr. Worldwide‘s on set looking charmingly pervy in his white tuxedo on loan from Baby Gap.

In order to really drive the song’s message home, J-Lo engages in the following:

1.) Levitates into a masquerade orgy/people pile of sorts a la Kylie‘s “All The Lovers” up against the ceiling (safe sex is gravity-free sex.)
2.) Rolls around in some of Ke$ha‘s leftover glitter that she upchucked last Tuesday after one too many bottles of Jack.
3.) Unleashes an absolutely mayjah dance breakdown with her newest boy toy, dancer Casper Smart, that keeps every pop chick in the game pressed. 20-year-old pop ladies, how come Madonna and J-Lo are out-dancing y’all? Oh right: ‘CAUSE THEY’RE LEGENDS.

In short, STUN-NING. (Also, oh hay gay rights (sort of)!) Shout out to the MTV All-Star Tribute!

But really, I must say: Choosing to release this video on the weekend the Lord has risen? Tsk tsk. Surely this YouTube commenter ‘soniadinoraportillo’ says it best:

It’s the video premiere for Gossip‘s gorgeous new Brian Higgins-produced single, “Perfect World”–and we’re being brought to church!

So what exactly exists in a perfect world, according to the sacred hymn of Beth Ditto? Stained glass, fire, candelabras and slender gymnast-dancers, amongst other things.

The video was directed by Price James, the same director behind Ditto’s brilliant “I Wrote The Book,” which paid homage to Madonna‘s “Justify My Love.”

The cinematography for “Perfect World” reminds me a bit of Adele‘s award-winning “Rolling In The Deep” (especially those gymnast scenes), but with an added flair of the occult.

Exorcise them demons, Ms. Ditto!

Three weeks ago, Fred Falke premiered his absolutely mind-blowing remix of Australian comeback chanteuse Ricki-Lee Coulter‘s second single from her upcoming third studio album, “Do It Like That.”

Now, it’s finally time for us to hear the real thing.

The original mix of Coulter’s latest Aussie release is a much livelier affair than the remix suggests, featuring a bleepy video game beat, blaring synthesizers and a bouncy, marching band-like ferocity, sort of similar to Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies.” And brave yourselves for the breakdown: Yep, “Hold It Against Me” dubstep breakdown alert! (That Godney reign just won’t let up…)

The bright ‘n’ bubbly video’s a whole bunch of fun too (what with all the choreography and sassy strutting and all), except for the slightly odd fact that the Ricki-Lee is missing a pair of pants throughout the entire clip. Seriously, what happened there? Did the label blew the entire video budget on the giant letters that spell out her name? Ketchup incident from the hot dog vendor? Oh well.

Giant letters beat out proper attire on the pop perfection scale, anyway.
