EDIT: Yahoo! has removed the video for now–most likely because they fucked up and premiered it a day ahead of schedule. Will update with link once it’s live again! Pst….check here for now.

IT IS UPON US: The video debut for the greatest piece of music to ever grace recorded media: Mariah Carey‘s “Obsessed.”

Similar to “Neighdar,” “Obsessed” forces us to endure long, painful shots of a prize horse in vogue. Unlike “Obsessed” however, the horses in “Neighdar” actually knew how to pick saddles that fit across their middle. GRL WHATTTTT?! Yeah, I said it.

But see, what you may not be picking up on is that Mimi is also playing the stalker, which means she had to work double time to both fawn for the camera as herself while also staring hungrily at herself as the stalker! I imagine it was a massive stretch as an actress.

On a side note, should I be concerned that my room shares similarities with the Mimi stalker’s room in the video, except it being Britney who’s plastered all around? It’s not like I make out with her cardboard cut-out that much. This video is clearly embellishing.

I mean, um…TAKE THAT, EMINEM.

Check out the video for Lily Allen‘s next single, “22,” due out on August 25. No idea why it’s out so early–but it’s here nonetheless!

A simple concept for a single-themed song. Even still, I can’t help but find it compelling. She looks gorgeous, especially in that flapper-like silver drape dress. Almost like an old school glamour, no?

It’s right about that time again–find your seats, take off your sunglasses, and make yourselves silent: The Beysus has arrived.

And what a landing it is this time: Mystical horses in the distance, R2D2 C-3PO-inspired armor (Thanks JJS, you geek), and (fierce) levitation all make up bits and pieces of the video for B’s new single, “Sweet Dreams,” a track that deserves to impact the charts hard.

Truly, the video campaign for I Am…Sasha Fierce has been effortlessly slick, especially on the Sasha side of things. Who knew that all we’d ever need from her was two background dancers and the hottest stilettos on the market?

This video, along with “Ego,” “Single Ladies,” and “Diva,” all underscore the brilliance of this entertainer-turned-legend. Let’s be honest–this doesn’t appear to be a big budget production, nor is much even happening here, but it doesn’t even matter: Beyoncé simply dominates.

Be sure to watch out for the final few seconds of the clip in case you’re looking for the true definition of fierce. Yowza!

I cannot believe Miss Martina Dragonette did not tell me about this when we spoke a few a days ago!

Check out this s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g surprise video for “Boys & Girls” by French music artist, Martin Solveig (website) above, done under the creative guidance of the one and only Jean-Paul Gaultier.

It’s a visual smorgasbord of high fashion, high contrast, and loads of clever dance moves! The song’s pretty bangin’ too. Tina, you look absolutely killer here–even if you look like you’re on the verge of giggles from time to time. I could watch this again and again…and so I think I shall!

A little birdie tells me that while this track will not be available for purchase, it will be for free very soon along with some remixes. Will let you know as soon as I do…

Is there ever a time when too much glitter is a bad thing?

Answer: No. As Marina & The Diamonds demonstrates in the lusciously dazzling video accompaniment to her single, “I Am Not A Robot,” being the lovechild of Ziggy Stardust and Kylie “X” Minogue can only be a good thing. Though not a lot actually happens, the video still manages to intoxicate…perhaps because I can do nothing but wonder how she managed to get all the glitter out of her orifices after this shoot.

Oh yeah, and it’s almost like some of Björk‘s “slow pan” videos a la “Cocoon” and “Hunter.” Not as good, but close.

Here now is the video for “Work” directed by Melina, Ciara‘s second international single off of Fantasy Ride. (The US will be receiving “Like A Surgeon” shortly.)

Honestly, bitch be fierce in this video. All that hair whipping and jelly knee skipping she’s doing up and down the sand? And in THOSE heels? GRLLLL…Tyra must be z-snapping all over the place right about now. Actually, did anyone else kind of feel like this was one long America’s Next Top Model promotional clip? I kept wondering when Miss Jay was going to come sashaying out of a bulldozer in a giant sequined banana or something.

I do truly believe Ciara is one of, if not the best dancers in the entertainment industry today. And while there’s not nearly enough choreography to really underscore that fact, the video does a nice job of showcasing her penchant for unorthodox dance moves and an ability to pose without flaw.

FIERCE, FABULOUS, AND FLAWWWWLESS.

Take Roxy Music‘s Siren album cover,
add it to The Fifth Element,
and then add it to Land Of The Lost,
with a tiny dash of Pucci’s color palette,
and voila: “Standing On The Shore.”

Jokes aside, this is one of the most visually appetizing music videos I’ve encountered this year. Stunning imagery and abundant strangeness…now that’s pop innovation for you!

And you thought the video for “Baby Baby Baby” by Make The Girl Dance was something special.

Now try French indie-pop artist Reead‘s reaction video for his own track, “Baby.” While the song’s pretty iffy, something tells me my audience is probably going to appreciate this video a little bit more…

Répéter s’il vous plait?

Thanks to Muuser Michael for the find!
