You know when a video is literally everything you had hoped it to be?
Welcome to “The Girl And The Robot.”
It’s almost creepy how similar the video is to the one I had in my mind each time I hear the song. Mournfully writhing around in bed, pacing frantically, clinging onto the robot…it’s exactly what this video was supposed to be. Add in the fact that Robyn looks GORGEOUS and a silly cameo by the boys (their first time being in their own video!) and you’ve got yourself a Grade A clip.
I would expect nothing less.
The single will be released in vinyl on June 15, which you can pre-order here. Click below to purchase “The Girl And The Robot” from iTunes now!![]()
Cascada‘s new single is called “Evacuate the Dancefloor.”
Let me just be the first one to say–this is hands down the best “Just Dance” cover I’ve ever heard. SPOT. ON.
Major ROFLCOPTERS for the rapper breakdown scene at 2:15 into the video where the cinematography is quite literally the same as in GAGa‘s video.
There’s so much wrong going on here. I mean…evacuate the dancefloor? You’re suggesting that we actually step off of the floor? Isn’t that a bit counterproductive?
I don’t even know where to begin, so I’ll just end it: “Stop, this beat is killing me.”
Done and done.
Abstract.
Conceptual.
…Meh.
A dozen Photoshop brushes wiping the sreen one at a time…and that’s about the extent of it.
I’ve forgotten it already.

Buckle up, kiddos…it’s time to premiere the video for Sophie Ellis-Bextor‘s new single with the Freemasons, “Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer”!
As usual, SEB looks stunning; ravishing as ever. So stone cold–her face really is the definition of “fierce,” isn’t it? Hard to believe she’s given birth only three months ago…
That being said, how about those effects? Works in some places (multi-layered silhouettes), but not in others (disorienting radar blips of color). It’s kind of like Kanye West was over dancing on the next set, burped up a little, and some of the contents splashed over the edges of the studio wall. That’s disgusting, actually…why did I just say that? Gotta love those Lykke Li dance bots behind her, though.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor folks…killin’ ‘em all on her own little mission.
Well at least VV Brown knows how to release things thematically: First, she was “Crying Blood.” Then she tried to “Leave!” And now–what else? There’s a “Shark In The Water.”
With what could quite possibly be her first major UK hit (Lord knows she needs it), VV Brown delivers with the third single off of her still pending debut album, Travelling Like The Light, thanks to the help of a massive chorus line and a breezy, summer-soaked sway between verses. If all goes well, “Shark” may just provide enough sweetness for the public to want to sink their teeth into.
That being said, I can’t help but be disappointed by the video. I mean, come on…who films a video for a song called “Shark In The Water” without featuring either (a) a shark or (b) scenes in the water? COME ON.
