Kate Havnevik Delivers “Mouth 2 Mouth” (Single Review)
Of all the Norwegian electronica chanteuses in the world, Kate Havnevik is probably my favorite. I first discovered Havnevik back in 2006 with her debut record Melankton, a dreamy collection of electronica-infused tunes produced by ...
Uh oh!
Fresh off the interview with the band, I’ve got a brand spankin’ new mix of Dragonette‘s new single, “Fixin’ To Thrill,” brought to you by the Villians.
This mix is fairly loyal to the original song structure, though it does add a healthy dose of supersonic electro-glitches throughout. Hang on until about halfway through when a torrent of stereo-blasting synths come pouring onto the floor…’tis a good time.

Good gracious, this woman lends herself well to remixes.
Lykke Li‘s “Little Bit” has been mixed by the likes of CSS and Drake in the past…now it’s Villians‘ turn. Cutting out of a slice of concentrated nu-rave energy and sprinkling Li’s feather-light vocal bits all over the top, the mixers have managed to thrust the soft-spoken singer under the bright disco lights–whether she likes it or not.
‘Tis a wonderful thing.

In lieu of this week’s release of N.A.S.A.‘s brilliantly diverse effort, The Spirit of Apollo (click here for the review!), I present the Villains remix of “Whatchadoin.”
The mix is supreme–adding an electro-fied Global DeeJay‘s-esque thumpa-thump between all the best bits of the track. With just a quick fix of scorching electronica whirls and tribal, summery sensations, who knew the song could improve so much?
DL: Whatchadoin? (feat. Spank Rock, M.I.A., Santogold & Nick Zinner) (Villains Remix) (Sharebee)
