A Waste Of Stars

Oh, hey there, it's the new video for the six month old single "Everybody Nose" from N.E.R.D.! It's trashy, flashy, and completely void of any real entertainment value--much like the song it corresponds to. Sure, it features cameos by Lindsay Lohan, Cory Kennedy, Samantha Ronson, and Kanye West. However, it does nothing for me at all.

What is this exactly? A pro-cocaine after school special? I don't get it, but I know that it's nothing special. Another video that merely glamorizes the overly self-indulgent hipster socialite scene? NEXT.

Potty Mouths

N.E.R.D. is coming back with N.3.R.D., their third album, later on this year. The first single and/or cut from the album has leaked recently, called "Everyone Nose." I went into thinking this was going to be another sultry dirty pop romp, but I was sorely mistaken. The topics of discussion? Noses, hundred dollar bills ("Look ah chu, ah chu!") and towels. Yes, there's a real smörgåsbord of novelty lyrics here, including the ubiquitous "All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom!"

Will this be the next "I'm bringing sexy back?" I sincerely hope not.

And okay, so the song is slightly addictive. That doesn't change the fact that I was left wanting more. Especially regarding this "standing in the line" bit. Say I was a girl who happened to be standing in line for the bathroom. What next? You've shouted for my attention, and you now have it. Now what? Are you just yelling at me Pharell? I don't take kindly to it.
