Aubrey O’Day Reworks Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” into Icy Electro-R&B Scorcher, Renders Entire Careers Irrelevant

A NEW O’DAY HAS COME.

Former Danity Kane Goddess Aubrey O’Slay might be promoting her empowering new anthem “Wrecking Ball” at the moment (video to come!), but right now, she’s decided to bless us all with a little somethin’ somethin’ on the side.

Just moments ago, the Celebrity Apprentice Queen and all-around Boss Bitch unveiled her reworking of Gotye and Kimbra‘s worldwide smash, “Somebody That I Used To Know.” And much like her friend JoJo‘s searing cover of Drake‘s “Marvin’s Room” (which is still one of the best songs of 2011, just so we’re still on the same page), Aubrey’s rendition of the track re-swizzles the song’s lyrics completely, retelling the story from a woman’s point of view.

Collecting your records and changing your number? Uh, try changing your locks.

“You’re just a fucking liar that I used to know,” the chanteuse venomously seethes on her icy electro-R&B cover. “I should have just walked away, but I stayed and watched you turn into some coward that I used to love!” Fellas, a word of advice: Knowing that Miss O’Day’s body is in fact on “Automatic,” I highly suggest you don’t do anything to make Miss Aubrey mad.

Between the chilly production, scowling lyricism, and of course, O’Day’s flaw-free vocals, there’s a whole lot to love about her damning take on the track. It’s pure hot fiya, as we often say in the industry.

Hell hath no fury like an O’Day scorned.
