There is quite literally never a time that a remix of Britney‘s “…Baby One More Time” is not essential.
My friend Belanger‘s just gone and released his superb new track, “Confess” — a mash-up of the Living Legend’s iconic 1998 debut and My Digital Enemy‘s ’90’s House-leaning 2013 summer anthem, “U & Me.” Obviously, it’s major.
The mix is a solid dance floor stormer that honors the original while sending it spiraling into clubland, proving that The Holy Spearit isn’t just pop royalty, but a full-fledged House diva as well. (My favorite bit’s around the 3:45 mark, when B-Girl’s “Ah ah!” vocals go stuttering all over the place.)
Nearly fifteen years later, I still firmly believe.
