Toni Braxton & Babyface Push Back ‘Love, Marriage & Divorce’ to February

Well, kids: Christmas is officially cancelled.

Toni Braxton and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds are pushing back their upcoming duets album, Love, Marriage & Divorce, to February. The album was originally scheduled for December 3, and then November 25. Now, it’s February 4.

Why? Well, the reasoning is sort of um, okay, sure:

Following the success of their #3 Urban AC smash duet single “Hurt You” on Motown Records, multi-platinum superstars Toni Braxton and Babyface have now scheduled the release of LOVE, MARRIAGE & DIVORCE, their first album of duets together, for February 4th, 2014, just in time for Valentine’s Day gift-giving.

Whatthewhat.com/huh? Essentially: “Because of the success of our single, we have decided to delay the release of our album.” Sure, okay. And that’s not even the weirdest part — “just in time for Valentine’s Day gift-giving”? An album with “Divorce” in the title? And with your lead single “Hurt You,” about mending a rough ‘n rocky relationship? I mean, I guess that sort of makes sense. I’m just bitter. Toni, if you really wanted to un-break our hearts, you’re not doing a very good job. (God knows, you never meant to hurt me…)

Despite all the album release date fuckery, “Hurt You” — which was released back in August — remains one of the best songs of the year. (The video’s pretty good, too.)

Plus, we got the album cover (above), which is quite sultry and very “love song duets album.”

Until February, there’s still Secrets.
