Yes, Bebe Rexha had the right idea to release her new single, “I’m Gonna Show You Crazy,” right in time for Christmas. ‘Tis the season, motherfuckers!
To be fair, the talented pop scribe has been killing for a while now, having penned Eminem and Rihanna‘s almighty “The Monster,” as well as supplying those almighty vocals on Cash Cash‘s “Take Me Home,” David Guetta‘s “Yesterday” and of course, her debut single, “I Can’t Stop Drinking About You.”
But now, it’s time to get a move on with the next song from her long-awaited debut — and it’s a major tune. In fact, ever since I saw the brooding beauty belt out the smash-in-waiting downtown during a showcase at The Box earlier this year, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the studio version to finally land. And here it is!
The Albanian diva’s done trying to fix herself on this dark and stormy pop anthem, and the therapist’s giving up on her too. You say she’s crazy? Bebe’s got your crazy…and a whole lot of ways to say crazy, too.
“Loco! Maniac! Sick bitch! Psychopath! Mental! Out-my-brain! Batshit! Go insane!”
The defiance written all over the track is positively delicious, as Bebe yelps her way across soldiering drum beats, synths and one monster of a chorus. (And yes, the production is pretty nuts as well.)
So what if she’s fucking crazy? If that’s what’s helping her write these killer hooks, then let’s keep Bebe crazy.
